The Indian automobile giant is planning some big updates for its upcoming Independence Day event in Mumbai
The Mahindra Bold NU Vision (Freedom NU) has been teased yet again on social media just a few days ahead of the August 15 event. Mahindra has had this tradition of showcasing its future tech and concepts on this day each year for the last few years. In essence, it captures the cutting-edge technology and the futuristic products the Indian auto giant is working on. The Freedom NU event, to be held in Mumbai on August 15, will incorporate such new concepts. Here is what we know so far.
Mahindra Bold NU Vision
Mahindra officially released yet another teaser on Instagram with the caption, “The countdown has begun. Less than a week to go for our Bold NU Vision 2027 – 2030. Expect a jaw-dropping reveal this 15th August.” This is an unequivocal indication that there is something big in the pipeline. Now, we can’t help but take some calculated guesses as to what this (or these) could be. Going by the recent teasers, we know that there will be four concepts on display – Vision.S, Vision.T, Vision.X and Vision.SXT.
The Vision.S seems to be inspired by the Scorpio N. It could be an electric version or even a pickup truck variant. The exterior design appears bold, with muscular contours, smooth curves, and sleek LED lighting elements. The Vision.T and Vision.SXT point towards something similar to the Thar Electric. Their boxy profiles, tough body lines, and heavy-duty off-road bumpers suggest a strong focus on rugged capability. Large off-road tyres add to the adventure-ready look. These features are reminiscent of the Thar Electric concept unveiled by Mahindra in South Africa last year.
Vision.X remains the biggest mystery in the lineup. The teaser reveals little, leading to speculation that it could be a brand-new model rather than an upgrade of an existing one. With these four concepts, Mahindra is clearly blending its off-road heritage with future-ready designs. The mix of electric technology and rugged styling has sparked huge interest among enthusiasts, making the anticipation for further announcements even stronger. In any case, the exact details will only surface in a couple of days.
