The new Maruti Victoris has made huge headlines after scoring a full 5-star safety rating at Global NCAP
In this post, we take a look at a brilliantly executed virtual rendition of the Maruti Victoris with a Toyota badge. We know that Toyota sells badge-engineered Maruti cars in India. This is a part of their joint venture, wherein Maruti lets Toyota sell the badge-engineered cars and, in turn, gets technology for global markets. We have seen examples of this practice for a few years now. This includes cars like the Baleno-Glanza, Brezza-Urban Cruiser, Grand Vitara-Hyryder, Invicto-Innova Hycross, etc.
Toyota-badged Maruti Victoris Imagined
The digital illustration captures a familiar vehicle with a new badge. At the front, we see a wide grille with sleek LED DRLs and LED headlamps. The fog lamps are mounted on the edges of the bumper. I particularly like the skid plate section down below. It adds to the rugged nature of the SUV. However, the Toyota badge confirms that this is a digital rendition. In the second part of the video, we even get a glimpse of the tail end. It boasts a connected LED light, a shark fin antenna, and a sporty bumper. All in all, this can easily pass off as the Toyota counterpart to the Victoris.
The actual Maruti Victoris comes with all the modern amenities inside the cabin. These are designed to keep the occupants pampered. Additionally, it shares the powertrain and transmission alternatives with the Grand Vitara. This includes a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated mild hybrid petrol and a 1.5-litre strong hybrid petrol mill. Buys can opt for manual or automatic transmission, with the former, while the latter is solely on offer with a CVT automatic gearbox. There is also a CNG guise for those who want low running costs.
My View
I must reiterate here that this digital concept is a mere figment of the creator’s imagination. Until now, Toyota’s version of the Maruti Victoris has not been announced. Therefore, we can’t guarantee that Toyota will launch the Victoris. In any case, it feels great to experience something digitally, where things are beyond the physical limitations and depend entirely on the imagination and creativity of the artist. I shall keep bringing more such cases for our readers.
