The new-gen compact SUV from the Korean carmaker has grown in size in comparison to the outgoing model
In this post, we compare the dimensions of the new Hyundai Venue with some of its top rivals in this segment. Note that the compact SUV category is massively crowded. It gets cars from just about every auto giant in the country. This makes this space highly competitive. Hence, carmakers put their best foot forward and equip their products with all sorts of latest amenities to attract buyers. Nevertheless, I feel that practicality and space have to be key aspects of any SUV. Let us compare the dimensions of the new Venue and its main competitors in this space.
New Hyundai Venue Dimensions Comparison With Rivals
The new Hyundai Venue is bigger than the last-gen version. Therefore, the cabin space must’ve definitely been positively affected. To be specific, the new Venue is 48 mm higher and 30 mm wider than the outgoing Venue. Furthermore, the new Venue has a 20 mm longer wheelbase than the last-gen Venue. Hence, the Korean auto giant has worked on making it feel bigger to attract more customers. However, this post is about the comparison with its key rivals in this space. The table below incorporates the dimensions of some of the highest-selling compact SUVs in India.
| Dimensions (in mm) | 2025 Hyundai Venue | Tata Nexon | Maruti Brezza | Mahindra XUV 3XO | Kia Sonet |
| Length | 3,995 | 3,995 | 3,995 | 3,990 | 3,995 |
| Width | 1,800 | 1,804 | 1,790 | 1,821 | 1,790 |
| Height | 1,665 | 1,620 | 1,685 | 1,647 | 1,642 |
| Wheelbase | 2,520 | 2,498 | 2,500 | 2,600 | 2,500 |
The new Hyundai Venue retains the powertrain and transmission options from the previous-gen model. This means that it gets a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol, a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol, and a 1.5-litre turbo-diesel engine. These will be paired with manual and automatic transmissions. Hence, the needs of all sorts of buyers will be met. In terms of the latest tech, safety, convenience and connectivity amenities, the top highlights include:
- Hyundai’s Connected Car Navigation Cockpit (ccNC) System Powered by NVIDIA
- Dual (12.3-inch + 12.3-inch) Curved Panoramic Display
- Dual-Tone Interior (Black and Dove Grey)
- Ambient Lighting (Moon White)
- 70 Connected Car Features
- 2-step Reclining Rear Seats
- Connectivity Suite with Over 400 Voice Recognition Commands in 5 Languages
- Rear Window Sunshades
- Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay
- Dual-tone Leather Seats with Venue Branding
- Wireless Smartphone Charging

My View
With the increase in dimensions, the new-gen Venue is certainly among the bigger cars in this segment. It might not be the absolute largest in the segment, but it is definitely one of the bigger models. This will ensure that the buyers experience great practicality and space, along with a new and modern cabin and tons of tech and features. The exact details about the pricing will be out on November 4, which is when the official launch is also planned.

Having followed the compact SUV space since its inception, I can say Hyundai’s decision to make the new Venue larger is a strategic one. Indian buyers place immense value on cabin space and road presence; areas where the previous Venue slightly trailed behind some rivals. With the new model now wider, taller, and boasting a longer wheelbase, Hyundai clearly aims to enhance practicality without breaching the sub-4-metre mark. This dimensional upgrade, combined with fresh tech, could help the Venue retain its strong foothold in an increasingly crowded segment.
