5 New SUVs to Launch in India

The SUV space is about to explode even more in the coming months, with plenty of new launches planned

In this post, I discuss the top 5 new SUVs that will be on sale in our market in the next 5 months. That is a bit surprising since one might think that the SUV market is saturated. Nevertheless, the SUV sales keep on rising and the demand keeps increasing. Also, this list contains vehicles of all shapes and sizes with ICE and electric hearts. Hence, the scope of possibilities is quite vast. So, without any further ado, let us delve into the details of this post.

5 New SUVs Coming to India in 5 Months

Tata Sierra

Let us start this post with the upcoming Tata Sierra. The Indian automobile giant has announced that the Sierra will be available with electric, petrol and diesel powertrains. Apart from that, it will bear modern styling, the glimpses of which we have already seen. Going by the official teaser, we know that the large SUV will pack in a lot of new-age amenities to pamper the users. These include things like a triple-screen display (driver’s instrument cluster, infotainment display and a passenger display), Level 2 ADAS, premium upholstery, flat-bottom steering wheel with illumination and control buttons and much more.

On the outside, the butch stance is what Tata is going for, reminiscent of the original Sierra from 1991. Judging by the teaser shots, we can see that the Sierra will incorporate elements like an LED light bar stretching from one side to the other and culminating in LED DRLs at the front, with the main headlamp cluster likely to be seen on the bumpers. To make it enticing, we will see attractive alloy wheels, some sturdy bits on the bumpers and side body panels and an upright tail section. More details will emerge in the coming days.

Mahindra XEV 9S

Then we have the Mahindra XEV 9S, which was also teased recently. It will be the new flagship EV from the Indian automobile giant. Based on the INGLO platform, the XEV 9S will join the already successful XEV 9e and BE 6. The recent teaser showcases the main in-cabin highlights, including a colossal panoramic sunroof, a sealed off front grille section carrying the Infinity Mahindra logo, triple display layout (driver’s instrument cluster, infotainment system and passenger’s display), premium Harman Kardon audio system, upmarket upholstery, 3-row seating, sleek steering wheel, ventilated and massage front seats, and enticing centre console with top-notch materials. The specific details about the powertrain and launch date will arrive in the coming months, but the debut will take place on November 27 at Mahindra’s ‘Scream Electric’ event in Bengaluru.

Kia Seltos

The new 2026 Kia Seltos is yet another prominent product on this list of the top 5 new SUVs to launch in India in the next few months. We know that the new-gen Seltos has been spotted testing in its native market of Korea for a while now. The global debut is slated for December 10. The spy images showcased the heavily camouflaged SUV with a familiar Tiger Nose grille and LED headlamps, while the LED DRLs are positioned on the edges. We also got glimpses of black alloy wheels, faux roof rails and side pillars. On the inside, there is no reason to believe that the Seltos won’t be the most feature-laden product in its category. Some tech functionalities will include a dual 12.3-inch display layout (for driver’s instrument cluster and infotainment system), premium upholstery, use of soft-touch materials, new dashboard layout, panoramic sunroof, Level 2 ADAS, dual-zone climate control, premium audio system, ventilated seats, and much more.

Renault Duster

We know that Renault Duster must be credited for being the vehicle which resulted in the creation of the mid-size SUV segment in our market back in 2012. It remained on sale until 2022, after which the increased competition and a lack of updates forced the French carmaker to pull the plug on it. However, the latest-gen model has been announced for India, and we will most likely experience it in the flesh by early 2026. Note that it has already been launched in a few international markets. There, it comes with tons of new-age features like a chunky steering wheel with multimedia controls, a digital instrument cluster, a free-standing touchscreen infotainment display, tri-arrow-styled AC vents, a textured dashboard, physical buttons for HVAC, a rotary drive mode selector, USB charging, a spacious cabin, a hexagonal steering wheel, and much more. Even the exterior bears butch and sturdy components for an imposing road presence. The specs might include the 1.3-litre turbo petrol and a 1.0-litre turbo petrol mill.

Maruti Suzuki eVitara

Finally, we have been awaiting the launch of the Maruti Suzuki eVitara for a while now. It has already made its debut back in January this year at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Show. It comes with tons of modern tech like a 10.2-inch Digital instrument Cluster, a 10.1-inch Touchscreen Infotainment Display, electric sunroof, soft-touch materials, multi-colour ambient lightings, Infinity premium sound system, ventilated front seats, 10-way powered seats, sliding and reclining rear seats, drive modes, 60+ advanced Telematic features, rotary shift knob, Level 2 ADAS, 7 airbags and much more. Furthermore, it will be available in a single-motor 2WD and a dual-motor AWD configuration with power and torque figures ranging from 142 hp / 189 Nm to 172 hp / 189 Nm and 181 hp / 300 Nm (AWD), respectively. Maruti claims a range of around 500 km on a single charge. These are the top 5 SUVs to watch out for in the coming months.
