Upcoming VinFast Cars in India

The Vietnamese auto giant is in the process of expanding its footprint in India with tons of exciting new products

In this post, let us take a look at the details of the upcoming VinFast cars in India. VinFast offers an appealing proposition of value-for-money products. That has been its attraction since the beginning, not just in India, but in other parts of the world too. Looking at the kind of growth of electric cars in the country, the Vietnamese carmaker has decided to expand its portfolio. At present, it sells the VF6 and VF7, which ensure competitive pricing. For now, let us check out which models VinFast wants to launch next.

Upcoming VinFast Cars in India

VinFast Limo Green

The VinFast Limo Green EV was recently spotted undergoing road tests in India, and I also had the opportunity to see it up close during my visit to VinFastโ€™s facilities in Vietnam. The SUV carries a clean and contemporary design, highlighted by a sleek LED lighting setup and a closed-off front fascia, in line with modern EV aesthetics. The side profile, in particular, stands out with blacked-out pillars, pronounced wheel arches and stylish dual-tone 18-inch alloy wheels, lending it a premium appeal. The rear section complements this with a sharp, modern look, featuring a shark-fin antenna and distinctive LED taillamps.

While details about the cabin are still under wraps, one can expect a feature-rich and tech-forward interior typical of new-age EVs. Likely highlights include a digital instrument cluster, powered driverโ€™s seat, large touchscreen infotainment system, premium audio setup and automatic climate control, among others. In terms of performance, the international-spec model offers a 60.13 kWh battery pack paired with an electric motor producing 204 PS and 280 Nm. It delivers a claimed range of around 450 km and supports fast charging from 10% to 70% in just 30 minutes, which should make it a strong contender in Indiaโ€™s evolving electric SUV space.

VinFast VF9

Then we have the VinFast VF9 on this list. The VF9 is the largest SUV in the Vietnamese carmaker’s portfolio. It carries the familiar VinFast design philosophy that we see on other VinFast cars. Interestingly, it will possess 3 rows and a 6/7 seating arrangement. Slated to be positioned at the top of the lineup, the VF9 will come with all the latest tech and convenience amenities. It will come with a massive 123 kWh battery pack, good for a range figure of 531 km on a single charge. In the top version, the electric SUV has a dual-motor all-wheel-drive configuration, which generates a mammoth 408 hp and 620 Nm of peak power and torque, respectively. The acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h comes up in just 6.6 seconds. It could have a price tag of upwards of Rs 65 lakh.

VinFast VF3

Finally, there is the VinFast VF3 on this list of the upcoming VinFast cars in India. The Vietnamese automaker has been employing innovative tactics to build excitement around its lineup. It will serve as the smallest and most cost-effective VinFast offering, targeting mass-market customers and aiding the brand in achieving strong sales volumes in the country. With its boxy proportions and upright stance, many have already compared the VF3 to the Maruti Jimny in terms of styling and on-road presence. The VF3 measures 3,190 mm in length and features a wheelbase of 2,075 mm, making it highly compact and ideal for manoeuvring through dense city traffic.

In spite of its compact dimensions, it carries a rugged design with a rectangular front fascia, chrome strip spanning the nose, black bumper cladding, squared wheel arches and blacked-out pillars. The rear sports a black panel, slim taillamps joined by a chrome strip and a shark-fin antenna. Inside, the cabin adopts a minimalist layout with a flat-bottom steering wheel and a large freestanding touchscreen infotainment system. Key features include Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, rotary HVAC controls, wireless charging, keyless entry, a panoramic sunroof and 285 litres of boot space. Power is derived from an 18.64 kWh battery delivering a claimed 210 km range (NEDC). The 32 kW motor produces 110 Nm, allowing 0-50 km/h in 5.3 seconds and fast charging from 10-70% in 36 minutes.

Editor’s Note

Yatharth Chauhan, Managing Editor

From my perspective, VinFastโ€™s India strategy is clearly well thought out, targeting multiple price points and customer segments right from the outset. The Limo Green and VF9 showcase the brandโ€™s intent to compete with established players in the premium EV space, while the VF3 could be a real game-changer in the entry-level urban mobility segment. What stands out to me is VinFastโ€™s aggressive push on localisation and value positioning, which are absolutely critical for success in India. If executed well, this diverse portfolio could help the brand quickly establish a strong foothold in our highly competitive EV market.
