The premium luxury hatchback / crossover has finally launched in our market
The all-new MINI Countryman C has been launched in India in a single, fully-loaded trim with a price tag of Rs 47.50 lakh, ex-showroom. For the first time, it will be locally manufactured at BMW Group Plant Chennai. The latest-generation SUV represents a significant step forward for the brand with a more imposing design, a thoroughly modern cabin and an updated powertrain. MINI has positioned it as a practical family SUV without compromising on its signature fun-to-drive character. Let us take a look at what the new model offers.
Exterior Styling
The new MINI Countryman C embraces the brand’s latest ‘Charismatic Simplicity’ design philosophy. While it retains the unmistakable MINI identity, the overall appearance is much more mature and SUV-like than before. The front fascia features a large octagonal grille, sharper LED headlamps and a sculpted bonnet which lends it a commanding road presence. Wider wheel arches, flush door handles and clean body surfaces further enhance the modern look.
The SUV benefits from a taller stance and generous ground clearance, making it one of the most imposing products in its segment. The contrasting roof, short overhangs and athletic shoulder line continue to preserve the traditional MINI silhouette. Buyers can choose from five exterior shades including British Racing Green, Smokey Green, Nanuq White, Slate Blue and Chilli Red. The standard 19-inch dual-tone alloy wheels complement the premium appearance perfectly.
Interior, Features and Safety
The cabin of the new Countryman C is a major highlight. Dominating the dashboard is a massive 240 mm circular OLED touchscreen, which acts as the centrepiece of the digital experience. The minimalist layout, textile surfaces and premium materials create a sophisticated ambience. MINI has also equipped the SUV with electrically adjustable JCW Sports Seats finished in Vintage Brown upholstery, while the driver’s seat gets a massage function.
Feature highlights include the MINI Operating System 9, MINI Intelligent Personal Assistant, Head-Up Display, Harman Kardon 12-speaker audio system, wireless smartphone connectivity, digital key functionality, navigation, remote services and multiple MINI Experience Modes. Safety equipment includes six airbags, Dynamic Stability Control, ABS, Brake Assist, Cruise Control, Parking Assistant Plus with a 360-degree camera and a 5-star Euro NCAP safety rating. The new MINI Countryman C represents one of the most significant updates to the brand’s lineup in recent years. While MINI has traditionally been associated with compact, fun-to-drive cars, the Countryman C shows how the company is evolving to meet the demands of modern buyers who seek practicality without sacrificing character. The local production strategy is particularly noteworthy as it should help MINI strengthen its presence in the Indian luxury car market. With its distinctive design, feature-rich cabin and trademark go-kart-like driving dynamics, the Countryman C aims to carve out a niche for itself among premium compact luxury SUVs. It will be interesting to see how Indian customers respond to this unique blend of style, technology and everyday usability.
