We often come across real-life instances of cars colliding against one another
In this latest post, we witness the new Maruti Brezza CNG being hit by a pickup truck in the middle of the road. Now, the Brezza CNG comes with an underbody CNG tank to ensure massive boot space for the passengers. In fact, we have seen a few carmakers adopt this technology to tackle the issue of extremely small luggage area in most CNG cars due to the CNG cylinder placed there. However, shifting the CNG cylinder under the body of the vehicle frees up ample space in the trunk. For now, let us take a look at the details of this latest case.
Maruti Brezza CNG Hit by Pickup Truck
This post stems from marutishowroompataudi on Instagram. The visuals capture the Brezza CNG compact SUV on the road with its tail section hit by a pickup truck. The host of the video also showcases the Mahindra pickup, which hit the Brezza from behind. We are not sure about how quick it was going. Still, there are marks on the road for some distance. As the video depicts, the damage to the rear end is relatively minor. The bumper has been affected along with a few body panels. However, the underbody CNG cylinder is safe. That is a huge relief for people who might be fearful about the cylinder in a car.
Even the front section of the pickup truck is damaged. This indicates that this crash took place at some speed. In any case, I would advise our readers not to jump to any conclusions about the build quality of the car on the basis of such isolated instances. Still, I must mention that the Maruti Brezza bears a full 5-star safety rating for adult and child protection at the Bharat NCAP. Clearly, this latest video proves that the compact SUV is quite strong.

Real-world crash videos often spark intense discussions around vehicle safety, but it’s important to look at them with a balanced perspective. In this particular case, what stands out is that the Brezza CNG’s underbody-mounted cylinder appears to have remained intact despite being rear-ended by a pickup truck, which should reassure many prospective CNG buyers. At the same time, isolated incidents can never replace controlled crash tests or provide a complete picture of a vehicle’s structural integrity. The Brezza’s 5-star Bharat NCAP rating certainly adds confidence, but every accident is different and should be viewed in its own context.
