Maruti Suzuki India Limited has announced that it will recall 69,555 units of it’s models sold in India due to a possible fault in the wiring harness fitment. The 69,555 units which might be affected by this defect include 55,938 units of the older Dzire, 12,486 versions of the previous generation Swift and 1,131 units of the Ritz manufactured between March 8, 2010 and August 11, 2013. Other Maruti ย models and exported units remain unaffected.
Dealers have been instructed by Maruti to contact owners of the above mentioned models to bring in their vehicles for a check-up at the dealership’s service centre. The cars will be inspected by technicians who will examine the wiring harnessย fitment and carry out necessary repairs if required free of cost.
Maruti noticed the problem based on feedback monitoring and internal checks by the company based on which it was decided that a recall was necessary.
