Our friends at Autocar India reported that Bajaj is developing the next-generation Pulsar. The automaker’s most precious brand name has been on sale since the year 2001. The company feels its high time they work extensively on the platform as it feels outdated now. Over time, Bajaj has offered minor updates once in 2010 and last year for BS-IV compliance. The Pulsar 150 UG5 is supposed to launch in a few days. A stop-gap measure to not let the competition steal the limelight. The big news remains the upcoming new generation of Pulsars being developed by Bajaj.
Upcoming Bajaj Pulsar – Launch Date
With the Indian Government introducing stringent emissions norms, the Bajaj’s 3-valve, DTS-i motor is not being able to cope with the norms. Bajaj is known for its foresight and will introduce a new engine platform that will not only comply with the existing emission norms but upcoming as well. The all-new Bajaj Pulsar range is expected to be showcased in 2019. The launch will follow late 2019 or early 2020.

Upcoming Bajaj Pulsar – Launch Price
The upcomingย Bajaj Pulsar will offer more scalability and stretchability. This translates to the new platform underpinning all the Pulsars ranging between 150cc and beyond 250cc. Defining the Pulsar’s character is a squared engine i.e. equal bore and stroke dimensions. We expect the upcomingย Bajaj Pulsar to retain the characteristics. The prices of the upcoming Pulsar will be unveiled at launch. No major increase in price is expected throughout the range.

Upcoming Bajaj Pulsar – Specifications
Bajaj is developing a fresh Pulsar series which will offer a new platform and a new engine. Both the platform and the engine will offer scalability and stretchability. While the lower engine capacity bikes will be able to retain carburettor based fuel delivery, the upcoming BS-VI emission norms will not allow the high powered bikes to run on the same. The Bajaj Dominar like performance bikes will have to feature an electronic fuel-injection motor. Needless to say, the upcoming Pulsar range will offer a much more refined and sporty experience. The new range will also get a more modern transmission unit.
When it comes to the design, Bajaj will offer evolutionary and not revolutionary design on its upcoming Pulsar. The company intends to keep certain key design elements in order to keep its products relatable. The major changes are expected in terms of new design alloy wheels, an LED headlight and a revised tail section. For the first time ever, the new Pulsar range will get a monoshock. The frame and swingarm will require considerable work to achieve the same. Bajaj is also working towards creating a clear distinction between the naked and faired lineup. Bajaj is expected to use a premium-finished handlebar instead of clip-on bars on its upcoming Pulsar 150.
The upcomingย Bajaj Pulsar will also feature a single-channel ABS for added safety. The ABS, in this case, is active only on the front wheel. Currently, ABS is offered only on the NS200, RS200 and Dominar but with ABS safety feature becoming mandatory for all vehicles above 150cc starting April 1, 2018.
