Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 has now been spied in a near-production form, indicating its near launch. The scrambler-styled bike will use KTM Duke 390’s engine.

Bajaj Auto is going to launch Husqvarna Motorcycles in India soon, probably by the end of this year. The Swedish-two wheeler manufacturer is now owned by KTM, which is owned by our Indian company.

After a long time, the spy shots of Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 have been leaked. The test mule seems to be spotted on the streets of Pune, as the bikes will be manufactured there itself.

Seems like the Svartpilen 401 is still in the final stages of production. The India-spec bike will use different parts than the global-spec. Here, it borrows many parts from the KTM motorcycles.

The spotted test mule uses the different alloys that come on the international model. Globally, the Svartpilen gets spoked wheels, since it is a Scrambler-type motorcycle. Here, they have been spied with MRF dual-purpose tires.

It gets split LED headlamps at the front, Duke 390’s engine crash guard, a fully digital instrument console, split seats and low-positioned clip-on handlebars. Basically, Husqvarna is planning some practical as well as fun-to-ride.

For engine purposes, both the Husqvarna bikes will use DUke 390’s engine. The 373cc liquid-cooled DOHC motor produces 43 BHP and 37 Nm of peak torque, with the motor mated to a 6-speed gearbox.

Looks like the Svartpilen 401 will sport premium USD forks at the front and a mono-shock suspension at the back. Braking is handled by disc brakes at both the ends with dual-channel ABS as standard fitment.

While the Vitpilen 401 is a neo-cafe racer, offering a dedicated riding position, the Svartpilen 401 is a neo-scrambler, which is meant for some mild off-roading scene, offering a relaxed posture.

We expect the Husqvarna bikes to be price starting from Rs 3 Lakhs, going up against BMW G 310 R, KTM Duke 390 and Kawasaki Ninja 300.
