Mahindra Bolero spied with airbags, reverse parking sensor as upgraded safety features!

Mahindra Bolero now gets additional safety features to comply with safety regulations of India

Mahindra Bolero is one of their longest-running SUV in the lot and its been running for almost 20 years now. However, with the new age technology and safety features, Bolero wasn’t fitting anywhere around. So the vehicle will now undergo changes which will be regulated with terms of safety and emissions.

Mahindra Bolero now gets driver side airbag, reverse parking sensors and ABS. It is mandatory from July 2019 to have seat belt reminder, driver-side airbag, speed alert system and revere parking sensors to oblige with the vehicular safety measures. The steering wheel in the picture is borrowed from Mahindra TUV300 clearly to house the driver-side airbag.

Mahindra Bolero will also update on its body design and structure to meet the crash tests under BNVSAP which comes into effect; October 2019. This means not only the passengers inside the vehicle are safe but also the pedestrian walking on the roads. For the latter, the company will introduce higher bonnet and softer bumpers. It will also get a redesigned grille in the coming few months.

Furthermore, the Bolero will also get introduced to a BS-VI compliance engine which will regulate with the emission norms come April 2020.

Mahindra has still not introduced the second generation of the Bolero and still gets some tweaks and changes to keep it attracted to the buyers. It is most popular with people living in rural areas.

There have not been many changes on the interiors and exteriors as such and gets dual tone interiors, digital instrument cluster, single din audio system which is available in top variant of the Bolero.

Currently, Mahindra is powered by a 2.5-litre m2DiCR engine which churns out 63bhp of power with 195Nm of torque. The base variant of the Mahindra Bolero starts from Rs 7.56 lakh and goes up to Rs 9.36 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the top model.
