Here we have drawn a detailed Toyota Glanza Specifications Comparison against all its rivals to see how it fares on paper in the segment.

There’s a brand new entrant in the premium hatchback segment. Well, not quite a brand new car but we can say that there is a new manufacturer in this segment. Toyota has finally launched the much awaited Glanza yesterday at a special introductory price of Rs. 7.22 lakhs, ex-showroom Delhi.

Toyota Glanza Specifications Comparison

The Glanza is essentially a rebadged Baleno that would be sold through Toyota dealerships. This is the first product in India as part of the global partnership between Toyota and Suzuki. Apart from its sister car, the Glanza also takes on the Hyundai Elite i20, Honda Jazz, and the Volkswagen Polo. We have drawn up a detailed Toyota Glanza specifications comparison with all its competitors. Here’s how the Glanza fares on paper with its rivasl:

The Glanza is exactly similar to the Baleno in terms of dimensions from every aspect and in that, they both are the largest in the segment. They are the longest and the widest but the Jazz is the tallest among all the other hatchbacks. However, it is the i20 which has the maximum wheelbase in this competition.

The Glanza and the Baleno are also the roomiest from the inside. The Glanza along with the Baleno have the second largest boot space as the top spot is taken up by the Jazz. In terms of wheel-size, all cars in their top-spec get 16-inch alloys but the Jazz just gets 15-inches wheels. The Toyota-Suzuki duo are also the lightest of all the cars and by quite a margin.

The Glanza also shares the powertrains with the Baleno, but only the petrol ones.
Here we are only comparing the petrol counterparts as the Glanza does not have a diesel option even though all its competitors offer a diesel engine.

There’s a 1.2L, Dualjet engine with a mild-hybrid motor, making 89 bhp and 113 Nm is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. There’s another 1.2L, K12B petrol engine which will pump out 82 bhp and 113 Nm is offered on both the trims. This engine can be paired with either a 5-speed manual transmission or a 7-step CVT gearbox.

In comparison with its rivals, all cars use 1.2L, four-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engines producing about 83 bhp but the Polo is the most powerful with 105 bhp. The Jazz is also more powerful at 90 bhp. However, the Polo also comes with a 1.0L, three cylinder engine which is the least powerful of the lot.

All cars are available with either a 5-speed manual or a CVT gearbox but again the Polo edges ahead with a 7-speed dual clutch automatic along with the regular 5-speed manual. The Glanza along with the Baleno are however the most fuel efficient of the lot.

Toyota is also offering class leading warranty on the Glanza which a USP of the glanza. With a very competitive pricing, and good value for what it offers, Toyota can hope that the Glanza will bring some good fortune for them.
