New Hyundai Creta Design Inspired from the Venue – Fresh Spy Shots

2020 Hyundai Creta sits on a new platform, looks bigger, is sharper and offers premium features on the inside.

New Hyundai Creta 2020 was unveiled at the Shanghai Motor Show and it is named as ix25 in the Chinese market. Several images of its front shot have been surfacing the internet which gives an idea about the production-ready model. The upcoming SUV will be unveiled at the 2020 Auto Expo and the SUV will go on roads in the first half of next year.

New Hyundai Creta is based on the company’s latest design philosophy which can be seen on the recently launched, Venue too. The car gets split headlight design along with large cascading grille up front and brushed silver skid plate into its front bumper.

The car shown at the Auto Show Shanghai sported black contrasting roof which is devoid in this. It could be a lower trim of the Creta like we have in India. 2020 Creta sits on larger dual tone alloy wheels and square wheel arches.

Talking about the interiors, Creta will get a simple and subtle design with fewer buttons and knobs. A large vertical touchscreen infotainment system with Blue Link Technology, like the Venue, can be brought in. Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, Voice command are some of the features the upcoming SUV will offer.

Features like a new steering wheel, dual zone climate control, power adjustable driver’s seat, ambient lighting, 360-degree camera, auto headlamps, rain sensing wipers can also make its way in the upcoming Hyundai Creta.

The current Hyundai Creta offers Six Airbags, ABS with EBD, Seat Belt Reminders, ESP, Rear Parking Sensors, Reverse Camera, ISOFIX mount child seats and Speed Sensing Door Lock as some of the safety features. The new gen may make way for front parking sensors, brake assist system, traction control and among others.

Since the Creta will be launched post the implementation of BS6 emission norms, it will get a new set of engines. It will discontinue the 1.4 and 1.6-litre turbocharged diesel and 1.6-litre petrol engine.

What’s in the store is the new 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engine which will churn out 115 bhp each. A more powerful 1.4 turbo petrol engine making 140 bhp with 172 Nm of torque could also make its way in. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual, 6-speed AT and a 7-speed DCT.

Hyundai is also working on bringing a 7-seater Creta to the Indian shores. However, that will happen at a later stage and the SUV will compete against the likes of Mahindra XUV500 and upcoming Tata Buzzard 7-seater.

Talking about the 2020 5-seater Hyundai Creta competition then it will rival with the likes of Tata Harrier, Renault Captur, Nissan Kicks, MG Hector and soon to be launched Kia Seltos. The prices for the same can be between Rs 11 lakh for the base trim and going upwards at a premium of Rs 16.5 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
