Aprilia SR125 has been spotted in Pune with a BS-6 badge on its front apron. This tells that the testing in under way and we can expect a year-end launch.
Ahead of the emission norms deadline next from April 2020, automotive brands in India are testing their vehicles on a full scale. Here, we have some BS-6 updated spy shots of the Aprilia SR125.
On the front apron, there is a small sticker that says ‘BS VI 160’. It has been spotted testing in Pune, near its home turf. Also, the ARAI office is located in Pune, from where you have to get your vehicle certified and compliant for the new norms.
However, the scooter has also been spotted with a tall visor, which we think will be optional. Interestingly, the same visor comes on the Storm 125, which is also scheduled to be launch this year.

For the BS-6 update, all the two-wheelers will be equipped with fuel injection system, which will help in lower emissions and will also improve the performance to a small extent.
Aprilia SR125 gets a 125cc engine that produces 9.5 BHP at 7250 RPM and 9.9 Nm of peak torque at 6250 RPM. It is one of the most powerful and quickest scooters in its segment, leaving Ntorq and Burgman Street behind.
For suspension purposes, it uses hydraulic suspension at both the ends. Braking is handled via a 220mm disc brake at the front and a 140mm drum brake at the back, with Combined Braking System (CBS).

Features onboard include a sporty analogue speedometer, CBS, pass light, Halogen headlamps and the sporty graphics. The list of colours offered on this scooter include all racy paint jobs.
SR125 goes against the likes of Vespa Notte, TVS Ntorq 125, Honda Grazia and Suzuki Burgman Street. The CBS variant is priced at Rs 72,667 (ex-showroom), which will increase with the inclusion of BS-6 engines.
Meanwhile, Aprilia SR 125 will soon get an additional 125cc sibling in the lineup. Reportedly, Storm 125 will be launched by the third week of April 2019, and deliveries commencing by end of April.

Storm 125 is based on the SR125 but it gets dual-purpose tires, different colour options, completely different set of decals and the tall transparent visor. The engine and the overall styling remain the same.
