Bajaj Auto plans to launch the updated range of Avengers soon. The updated units have started reaching dealerships, while we wait for an official confirmation.
The latest spy pic shows Bajaj Avenger 220 Street with a single ABS and a speed sensor on the rear drum brake. The rear-wheel encoder is equipped to aid ABS. The same setup comes in Bajaj Pulsar NS200 and KTM Duke 125.
Bajaj Avenger 220 and 180 sport a disc brake at the front and a drum brake at the back. Usually, the rear encoder prevents the bike from lifting up during emergency braking. In this case, it is to ensure proper ABS control.

Other than that, Bajaj Avenger 220 does not get any updates. As per our expectations, BS-6 engines would not come in this update. Bajaj Auto might launch the BS-6 models later in 2019.
Bajaj Avenger series includes 3 variants – Street 180, Street 220 and Cruise 220. While the Street series follows a modern-urban cruiser theme, Cruise 220 lives up to the classy and elegant styling.
Bajaj Avenger 220 Street and Cruise get the same 220cc DTS-i engine setup. The engine produces 19 BHP and 17.5 Nm of peak torque. The engine comes mated to a 5-speed transmission.
Suspension setup at the front includes telescopic forks and Twin Shock absorbers at the rear.

The fuel tank capacity of all the Avengers is 16.8 Litres in total. 220cc Avengers offer an estimated mileage of 40 kmpl, taking the riding range up to 670 kms. The Avenger Street 180 offers better mileage at around 45 kmpl, with a riding range of up to 750 kms.
With the inclusion of ABS, the prices are now set to increase. The prices hike will be around Rs 8,000 on all the bikes. So, these might be the new prices of the Avenger series:
- Avenger Street 180 – 95,000
- Avenger Street 220 – Rs 1.02 Lakhs
- Cruise 220 – Rs 1.02 Lakhs

Most of the dealerships have started receiving fresh stocks of the updated bikes. Bookings for the same might begin soon. The launch is expected by the end of January 2019.
With this, Bajaj Pulsar 150, NS 160, 180 and 220F will also be updated soon.
