Yes, there is a connection between the KTM Duke and Bajaj Pulsar and it is official. Bajaj is working with KTM in India for the Development and marketing of the KTM bikes. The recently launched Naked sports bike KTM Duke 200 followed by the Bajaj Pulsar 200 Naked Sports Bike was no mere coincidence. To achieve economies of scale, there two bikes do share a lot of technology and design elements as well. During the official unveiling of the Pulsar 200 NS in Mumbai India, Rajiv Bajaj revealed that there will be a Bajaj Pulsar 350 which will be launched in 2013. Incidentally, KTM Duke 350 is also schedules for year 2013. Like the KTM Duke 200 and Pulsar 200, the KTM Duke will continue to be a premium offering with better overall equipment and package and will be priced higher compared to the Bajaj Pulsar which is a higher sales volume segment in India.

2012 Bajaj Pulsar 200 has been designed by the same team which has designed the Duke 200 and there are many common design and feature elements in these two bikes. Same way we can expect the Duke 350 CC to be the inspiration for the Pulsar 350 CC which will take the Indian Pulsar bike series to a higher displacement segment which was unexplored by any Indian bike manufacturer so far.
As per Rajiv Bajaj, India is one of the most capable markets in terms of producing high quality auto components at very competitive prices which makes such popular products possible at such reasonable price tags. The 2013 Pulsar 350 is expected to have similar engine performance as the KTM Duke 350 with the 3 spark-plugs technology which is used only in the Bajaj bikes so far. The future of Indian biking seems promising with the big players like Bajaj offering products targeted towards biking enthusiast and youth riders.
