  • DC car modification house is easily the most renowned name in the Indian automobile industry.
  • It has modified products ranging from vintage cars to exotic luxury cars.
  • This Padmini Premier restoration is a one-of-a-kind project, confirms Dilip Chhabria.

In some latest exciting news for automobile modification lovers, Dilip Chhabria of DC Design is amidst a project involving restoring a vintage Padmini Premier. It is one of the most iconic products of the Indian automobile market from the 1970s. The Premier, along with the Hindustan Ambassador was a mark of luxury for decades. It was only after globalisation in India in 1991, that tons of international carmakers entered the market and products like the Padmini Premier were lost. Nevertheless, let us feast our eyes on this special edition version of the Premier.

Dilip Chhabria, the owner of the famed car automobile modification house DC Design, shared information about this unique and nostalgic restoration on Facebook. Along with the post, he has shared images of what the final product would look like. By the looks of it, we must appreciate the effort of the team to ensure that the DNA of the vintage vehicle is maintained in addition to incorporating some ultra-modern and neo-design elements. If the Premier were to exist today, this is definitely what it could look like.

At the front, the over silhouette does resemble the iconic Fiat to a large extent, but the modern design highlights differentiate it apart from the old model too. For instance, the round trademark headlamps remain, but the projector and chrome surrounds accentuate and modernise the appearance. Then there is a massive chrome grille with vertical slats along with a chunky chrome bumper to bling things up. All these are signs of the new-age design language.

On the sides, the large chrome spoked wheels are something that will instantly transport us back to the 1980s but the sleek door handle designed with a flush-fitting mechanism takes us to the future. The B-pillar is either non-existent or transparent that blends well with the window frame. The rear has compact LED headlamps with chrome garnish and the bling on the bumper with the help of chrome continues. Overall, this is a perfect combination of the retro and neo themes DC Design is going for. What are your opinions about this?
