Carmakers generally offer benefits and incentives on their products to boost sales
In this post, we discuss the enticing discounts on VW cars for May 2025. Offering such benefits is the oldest trick in the book to attract new customers. This is especially true in a price-conscious market like India. Volkswagen has been having a decent time on the sales charts in the last few years, courtesy of their new-age MQB A0 IN products. These include the Virtus sedan and Taigun SUV. For now, let us check out the kind of bonuses on these vehicles.

VW Virtus
The first vehicle on this list is the VW Virtus. It is a prominent mid-size sedan in the country. It rivals the likes of the Hyundai Verna, Honda City and Skoda Slavia. This is a competitive segment, even though the sales have taken a hit due to the new SUVs. Still, the driving aficionados love to own sedans. For the month of May 2025, the buyers are eligible to avail of benefits worth up to Rs 1.9 lakh on the Virtus. The details include:

VW Taigun
Then we have the VW Taigun. It is a critical mid-size SUV for the German carmaker. We know that this category has been growing rapidly in India in the last few years. In fact, it is one of the most crowded segments of our market. Hence, carmakers need to put their best foot forward to compete in this space, especially against the Koreans. In May 2025, the potential customers can get upto Rs 2 lakh off on the Taigun. Here are the specifics:
- Taigun 1.0 GT Line – Upto Rs 1.45 lakh off
- Taigun 1.5 DSG GT Line – Upto Rs 2 lakh off
Specs
We know that both VW Virtus and Taigun borrow the powertrain and transmission options. They draw power from two engine options – a 1.0-litre TSI turbo petrol engine and a 1.5-litre EVO turbo petrol engine. These mills generate maximum power and torque, with figures of 115 PS and 178 Nm for the 1.0-litre, and 150 PS and 250 Nm for the 1.5-litre engine. The smaller engine can be paired with either a 6-speed manual transmission or an automatic transmission, while the larger mill is available with either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DSG transmission.
