After unveiling the new Honda Activa 125 with a BS-6 engine, the manufacturer is all set to reveal the prices of the updated scooter on 11th September.
Honda unveiled its first BS-6 model for India, back in June this year. Activa 125 is the first model to get the updated engine from the entire lineup. Further, there are some new features onboard as well.
With the new Honda Activa 125 BS-6, there are a lot of firsts for the manufacturer. Like, Fuel Injection system is the first time from Honda, but the second model in India, after Maestro Edge 125 FI.
The prices and engine specs have not been revealed yet. However, the features, engine changes and cosmetic upgrades have been mentioned. Here are five things to know about the scooter:
1. Launch Date and Price
Honda will be launching the Activa 125 BS-6 on 11th September. The prices will be revealed then itself, however, the officials stated that it will increase by 10-15% max.
Currently, the Activa 125 starts from Rs 60,000 to Rs 64,700 (ex-showroom Delhi). So expect the prices to go up to Rs 68,000 for the top-end variant.
2. Engine Changes
Since, the Honda Activa 125 gets a BS-6 engine, there are many changes onboard. It gets fuel injection system, which helps in the reduction of the emission. Further, mileage and performance also improve.
The engine is now equipped with an ACG starter, which prevents the ignition noise. i3S technology is the first from Honda, which basically switches off the engine when idle. With the twist of the throttle, the engine automatically switches on.
3. New Features
The Honda Activa 125 BS-6 gets a revised instrument cluster with riding range, instanteous fuel economy and average fuel economy, external fuel filler cap, LED headlamps and position lamps and i3S technology. Some of the features come on a scooter for the first time.
4. Cosmetic Changes
Cosmetic upgrades are minor, as they include revised headlamps, revised tail portion, a new glovebox at the front and chrome detailing on the side apron. The overall styling remains untouched, just looks a bit premium than earlier.
5. Suspension And Brakes
The new Activa gets a new 3-step adjustable rear mono-shock with the same telescopic forks at the front. Disc brake at the front and a drum brake at the back are offered on the top-spec variant. CBS comes as a standard fitment across all variants.
