Ola customers protest at service centre

Ola has been under harsh scrutiny for a while now as more and more customers face issues with their electric scooters.

In a concerning turn of events, some frustrated Ola customers organised a protest in front of the service centre. Ola is one of the most popular electric scooter companies in the country. Its EVs offer quite promising performance and range which is a major draw for a whole lot of customers. With its products, Ola aims to challenge the domination of the established legacy two-wheeler manufacturers in the country. However, in recent times, the company has come under a lot of criticism as more customers voice their concerns regarding the quality of electric scooters.

Ola Customers Protest at Service Centre

This post has been shared on Twitter by the Ola Electric #Parody handle. It reads, “This is not the OLA future factory it is the service center with the lots of defective scooters…Customers started protests in front of the service center with banners.” In the image, we witness dozens of Ola electric scooters parked outside the service centre. On the banner, the details of the electric scooter owners are also given in addition to the problems they are facing. It reads, “It stops when the battery reaches 20%. Then we can walk comfortably to our destination.”

Furthermore, there are complaints about the electric scooter being at the service centre for more than 6 days now. The owner jokingly terms it as the ‘Parking Mode’. Additionally, he says that he didn’t get any message from the Ola service centre and the service executive never attended his calls. He also says that the alignment bush of his electric scooter has been changed 5 times. This is clearly a grievous situation for any automobile owner to be in. One can only imagine the level of frustration these customers have that they have decided to protest in front of the service centre.

What We Think

We feel the irritation the customers are going through. Buying a car or a motorcycle in India is a huge emotion. People were passionate about their automobiles. Oftentimes, they go beyond their means to get their dream vehicle. Now if after spending a lot of money on the vehicle, they are not able to put it to good use, it is bound to leave them distraught. They have to take time out of their busy schedules to go to the service centre constantly. We can only hope that Ola rectifies all the mistakes and fix these bikes as soon as possible. Also, it must ensure that such issues do not crop up in the future.
