GMC Sierra Spotted in India

GMC Sierra Spotted in India. Comes from Dubai through Carnet.

We have been noticing a ton of imported vehicles in India and this GMC Sierra Pickup Truck is yet another example of it.

In the latest sighting, a mammoth GMC Sierra pickup truck was spotted navigating through the narrow streets of India. To be honest, the bohemian size of these American pickup trucks would find it difficult to manoeuvre on the streets of any country. Of late, we have been witnessing a flurry of imported vehicles using the ATA Carnet passport. This seems to have followed a similar path. Let us check out the details of this interesting event.

The video captures a massive white-coloured pickup truck with a colossal chrome grille with GMC inscribed on it. It is barely able to squeeze through the streets due to shops extending out to the streets. It looks like a typical Bazar where small shopkeepers have put their stuff out of the shops to attract customers. In fact, a girl is seen sitting on her scooty which makes it even more difficult for Sierra to move. In subsequent shots, the Sierra is seen throughout the city, at crossroads and small alleys just about making it through. Needless to say, it grabs the attention of bystanders everywhere it goes. It must’ve come via the Carnet route.

ATA Carnet refers to a Temporary Admission permit that allows anyone from any country to import or export non-perishable items without paying any tax or duty. It is a widely accepted international customs document that is not that hard to get. Its validity is 1 year from the date of issue and allows multiple entries into multiple countries in that 1 year. The ATA Carnet is jointly administered by the World Customs Organization (WCO) and the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) through its World Chambers Federation.
