  • Harley Davidson Street 750 used to be one of the two locally produced models from the American motorcycle manufacturer
  • The motorcycle manufacturer has now joined hands with Hero MotoCorp to re-enter Indian market with Royal Enfield rivals

Growing up, many of us have seen milkmen carrying milk in huge containers mounted on bicycles or, at best, piddly motorcycles. With time, though, the ever-increasing purchasing power and the advent of new models in the market have changed this scenario a bit. Recently, a video showing a milkman delivering milk on an expensive Harley Davidson Street 750 went viral.

Harley Davidson Street 750 Discontinued in 2018

The clip shows a man coming out of his house. He dons a hoodie and gets on the expensive motorcycle. One can see large metal milk containers mounted on either sides of the motorcycle. It’s truly puzzling to see the milkman using an expensive motorcycle to delivery milk when he can do the same on any low cost vehicle. Honestly, the sight of the milkman riding the powerful motorcycle sans helmet and ‘Gujjar’ written on the registration plate is far less surprising than seeing him on an expensive set of wheels.

It is worth mentioning that Street 750 and Street 500 were the only two motorcycles that the renowned American motorcycle manufacturer produced in India. All others models that were available here were produced in Kansas and imported to our shores. Also, the motorcycle manufacturer offered attractive schemes to clear the stocks before leaving the country in 2018. For instance, there was an attractive finance offer with an interest rate of just 3.49%. This attracted many towards the Rs 5.25 lakh Street 750. Many of these motorcycles have even reached the used bike market. One can purchase a used Street 750 for as low as Rs 2.5 lakh. Meanwhile, Harley Davidson has now joined hands with Hero MotoCorp to re-introduce its products in the country.

Brand to Launch Royal Enfield Rival in 2024

It’s being said that the two brands have already showcased a couple of co-developed products to select dealerships in the country. One of these is a cruiser dubbed 338R. Another is a street bike that features aggressive styling and a single-cylinder motor. One of these is expected to make its market debut by the end of the next fiscal. The new models will help the brands take on Royal Enfield.
