Harley Davidson is considering exploring the sub-500cc motorcycle segment in India. The first bike from the brand might be launched in 2020-21.
Last year in July, premium motorcycle manufacturer, Harley Davidson officially confirmed that the brand is considering exploring new motorcycle segments in India.
HD is considering the sub-500cc segment in India. It is planning to develop bikes ranging between 250-500cc. Currently, the entry-level premium motorcycle segment is growing popular day-by-day.
The least powerful bike in its stable is Street 750, which is also the best selling in the stable. Many Harley Davidson motorcycles are CBU units, making them much costly.

So, we expect HD to develop a new 250cc motorcycle inspired by Street 750. The styling bits will be borrowed from Street 750. Check out this really cool rendering of Harley Davidson Street 250 made by IAB.
The rendered Street 250 gets the muscular styling from Street 750. It comes with a double cradle chassis with telescopic forks at the front and twin-coil shock absorbers at the back.
The round headlamp and headlamp cowl are the same from Street 750. The smooth buffed up fuel tank is also the same. Street 250 gets a single step-up seat.

Other styling bits include a matte-black brushed exhaust muffler, hefty tires , 10-inch alloy wheels and the original Black colour. Some of the cycle parts might be borrowed from Street 750.
We expect Harley Davidson to give a twin-cylinder engine onboard the sub-500cc bikes. So, for the time being, we can expect one of this on the Street 250.
So, it might be powered by a 250cc V-Twin engine that may deliver power figures of approximately 30 BHP and 31 Nm of torque.

If Street 250 actually is true and is planned on being launched in India, it will enter the entry-level premium motorcycle segment. It will compete with the likes of Honda CB300R, RE Classic 350, Benelli Imperiale 400 and similarly powered motorcycles.
