The latest Harley Davidson has been launched in India and it bears some key upgrades over the regular X440
The new Harley Davidson X440T has been launched in India at a price point of Rs 2,79,500, ex-showroom. The bookings are open and the deliveries are set to commence in January 2026. Interestingly, the two-wheeler manufacturer also launched the X440 Vivid and X440 S priced at Rs 2,34,500 and Rs 2,54,900, ex-showroom, respectively. We know that the engine comes from Hero MotoCorp as a part of their joint venture in India. Let us take a look at the details of what’s new with the Harley Davidson X440T.
Harley Davidson X440T vs X440
The first aspect that one notices with the new motorcycle is the visual changes in comparison to the X440. This includes things like a more angular rear section with a streamlined cowl, a redesigned seat for better comfort, chunkier grab handles, bar-end mirrors, a black front fender, a redesigned rear subframe, new fuel tank graphics inspired by the XR1200, new exhaust with a heat shield and end cap and the cables arrangement has been cleaned up. All these amenities ensure that the new X440T offers considerably more than the regular X440 in terms of appearance.
Specs
The new Harley Davidson X440T comes with a 440-cc 2V SOHC single-cylinder engine that churns out 27 hp and 36 Nm of peak power and torque, respectively. Performing transmission duties is a 6-speed gearbox. To enhance the performance, the useful bits include ride-by-wire, rider aids like ABS (switchable), traction control, road and rain ride modes, panic braking alert and much more. Therefore, enthusiastic riders could really relish their time on this bike. For infotainment, the users get a 3.5-inch TFT circular display with smartphone connectivity and navigation.
My View
The new motorcycle is an attractive highway cruiser for riders who go out on weekend trips. However, its everyday practicality is an added benefit, making it a decent daily user. Those who want the badge of Harley Davidson would also appreciate it. Let us keep an eye out for how well the potential buyers embrace it.

Having observed Harley’s India strategy evolve over the years, the X440T clearly signals the brand’s intent to mature its entry-level offering rather than merely badge-engineer a commuter-oriented motorcycle. The design updates give it a stronger emotional pull, something Indian buyers expect when stepping into the Harley ecosystem. What’s equally important is that the X440T now feels more purpose-built for our riding conditions, striking a better balance between weekend touring aspirations and daily usability. If Hero-Harley continues refining this formula, the X440 platform could well become a long-term pillar for the brand in India.
