Hero Electric Motorcycle

The upcoming electric motorcycle from Hero Motocorp makes a spy debut in Delhi. The spotted test mule looks like a naked motorcycle.

The 2020 Auto Expo will see many new electric vehicles in the showcase. Many electric mobility startups, as well as mass-market manufacturers, are bringing in their EVs. In the electric two-wheeler space, Hero Motocorp is bringing something big.

Hero is going to introduce its electric motorcycle at the 2020 Auto Expo. Most likely, it will be debut next month itself, at the event. Ahead of the launch, slightly camouflaged spy shots of the motorcycle have surfaced up online.

The motorcycle looks similar to a 150-160cc naked street commuter that we have in India. It gets alloy wheels, a muscular front portion, wide upright handlebar and split seats. The batteries could be placed instead of the fuel tank.

For suspension, it seems to get telescopic forks at the front and a monoshock at the back. We can spot the front disc brake but no rear disc brake. Another highlight will include a colour TFT fully digital speedometer with advanced connectivity options.

Hero will place it as an electric motorcycle equivalent to a 150cc bike. The top speed will mostly go up to 80-90 km/hr. The riding range will be 120 kms, as claimed by the manufacturer. The other specifications and charging details are unknown.

To make its motorcycle a more accepted product, Hero will offer different options for charging. The motorcycle will definitely support fast charging and along with it, there will be a Home AC charger offered free of cost. Further, it could also get removable lithium-ion batteries which can be charged with a portable charger over a three-pin plug.

Unlike other Hero electric models, this motorcycle would not be a budget product. Expect Hero to price it between Rs 1.2 Lakhs – Rs 1.5 Lakhs (ex-showroom). In the market, it will go against the likes of Revolt RV400, another sporty commuter electric motorcycle.
