Hero Xpulse 200 and 200T have been finally launched in India, with prices starting at Rs 94,000. Both use a 200cc engine, borrowed from Xtreme 200R.

After making us wait for more than a year, Hero Motocorp has now launched its much-awaited adventure motorcycles. Xpulse 200 and 200T finally make a debut in India.

Hero Xpulse 200 is priced starting at Rs 97,000 (Carb) and Rs 1.05 Lakhs (FI) and the 200T goes for Rs 94,000 (Ex-showroom prices). They are the most affordable adventure motorcycles in India, removing Royal Enfield Himalayan from this position.

While Xpulse 200 is the off-road biased variant, the 200T is for long tours. Alloy wheels and the exhaust muffler are the main bits that differentiate both the motorcycles.

Hero Xpulse 200 and 200T use a 199.5cc air-cooled single-cylinder fuel-injected engine. It chugs out 18.1 BHP at 8000 RPM and 17.1 Nm of torque at 6500 RPM. The engine comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox.

The off-road version weighs 153 kgs and the 200T weighs 150 kgs. With a fuel tank capacity of 13 litres and an estimated mileage of 45 kmpl, a riding range of nearly 500 kms will be on offer.

Both the bikes use the same suspension setup, which includes 37mm telescopic forks at the front and 10-step adjustable gas-charged monoshock at the back for the XPulse 200 ad the 200T uses a 7-step preload adjustable unit. The suspension travel of Xpulse 200 stands at 170mm at the front.

Braking is taken care of by a 796mm disc brake at the front and a 220mm disc at the back. Single-ABS comes as a standard fitment, which can be disengaged on the Xpulse 200 for off-roading aid.

Features onboard include a Bluetooth connected digital console, turn by turn navigation, ABS, single long seat, tall visor, raised exhaust muffler for water wading capacities (Hero xpulse 200) and a small luggage rack at the back.

Xpulse 200 and 200T have no direct competition as such. As said earlier, their nearest rival is the Royal Enfield Himalayan which is priced at Rs 1.87 Lakhs (ex-showroom).
