Hero Xpulse 200

Strong rumours suggest that the Hero Xpulse 200 and 200T might be launched by the end of March. It was showcased last year, at the Auto Expo.

It has been more than a year since Hero unveiled the Xpulse 200 Adventure motorcycle in India. At an earlier event, the company hinted towards the possible launch in Q1 2019.

At the EICMA 2018, Hero further unveiled the Xpulse 200T, which is a road-biased version of the regular ADV. Both the variants are scheduled to launch at the same time.

Hero Xpulse 200

Hero Xpulse 200 comes in as a replacement for the Impulse, which was discontinued a couple of years back. The latter bike was discontinued because of poor performance over the years.

Xpulse 200 gets certain off-roading bits like spoked rims, high-positioned exhaust, engine bash plate, high placed front and rear fenders and importantly, switchable ABS.

The Hero Xpulse 200 uses the same engine from Xtreme 200R. The 199cc air-cooled fuel-injected engine is capable of producing 18 BHP and 17 Nm of peak torque. The engine will be tuned for better torque-delivery at the low RPMs.

For suspension purposes, it uses telescopic forks with long travel suspension at the front and 10 Step Adjustable gas charged monoshock at the back. The ground clearance stands at 167mm.

Xpulse 200T on the other hand, gets blacked out alloy wheels, a taller windscreen, split headlamps, regular-positioned exhaust muffler and road-spec tires, instead of the dual-purpose ones.

Going by Hero’s pricing trends, we expect the Xpulse 200 to be priced under Rs 1.2 Lakhs (ex-showroom). Xpulse 200T will be even cheaper than its dual-purpose sibling.

Just like the Impulse, Hero Xpulse 200 will be the cheapest ADV in India. Most affordable one currently is the Royal Enfield Himalayan, which goes for Rs 1.9 Lakhs (ex-showroom).
