Honda Amaze Gets New Top-End VX CVT Variant – Details

Honda Amaze is now available with a new top-spec trim. The VX CVT variant is available with both petrol and diesel engines.

Honda has finally equipped the top-end variants of Amaze with CVT gearbox. The top-end VX CVT variant has been launched, which will be available with petrol as well as diesel engines.

Earlier, it was available only on the mid-spec S and V trims, to keep the prices range of Amaze in check. The petrol VX CVT goes for Rs 8.57 Lakhs and the diesel variant goes for Rs 9.57 Lakhs (prices ex-showroom).

Honda states that amongst the buyers of Amaze, around 20% of them opted for the CVT variant. To bolster the sales of the sedan, it has launched the new variants.

Additional features on the Honda Amaze VX CVT variant include 17.7 cm touchscreen infotainment system, Turn-by-turn navigation, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Remote Control, Additional USB Port, Steering Mounted controls and Rear Parking camera.

These additional features are not available in the V CVT variant, but come in the VX MT variant.

Honda Amaze continues with the same 1.2 Litre i-VTEC and 1.5 Litre i-DTEC engines. The petrol engine produces 87 BHP and 109 Nm of peak torque. The diesel unit offers 99 BHP and 200 Nm of peak torque.

Both the engines come mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard with an option of a CVT gearbox. The base E variant does not have the option of CVT.

Safety features onboard include rear parking sensors, ABS, Dual Airbags, ISOFIX Child Seat Anchorage, Impact Sensing Door Unlock, Rear Parking Camera, High-Speed Alarm and Front Passenger Seat Reminder.

The Amaze is priced starting from Rs 5.59 Lakhs to Rs 8.57 Lakhs for the petrol variant. The diesel variants start off from Rs 6.69 Lakhs to Rs 9.57 Lakhs (ex-showroom prices).

Honda Amaze competes with the likes of Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Ford Aspire, Hyundai Xcent and Tata Tigor.
