A prominent Indian vlogger reviews a Land Rover Defender copy. The trend of replicas has been growing in recent times in many parts of the world. This latest case is a perfect example of it. Land Rover Defender is one of the most popular luxury off-roading SUVs on the planet. Many top celebrities across the globe possess it. Because of its popularity and image, many aftermarket car modification houses create its replicas. This recent case is an accurate case in point. Let us delve into the specifics of this case here.
Indian Vlogger Details Land Rover Defender Copy
The specifics of this instance emerge from Faisal Khan on YouTube. The host has the Jetour T2 SUV which resembles the iconic Land Rover Defender quite significantly. What is even more impressive is the fact that it costs the equivalent of Rs 20 lakh in Dubai. There, the Defender retails for Rs 1.15 Crore, on-road Mumbai in the base trim. Looking at it from the outside, the Defender inspiration is quite obvious. The front section contains an illuminated Jetour lettering on the huge black grille, rugged tow hooks, fog lamps, squarish headlamps, and a sturdy bumper section. On the sides, it gets a rugged demeanour with black side pillars, roof rails, chunky wheel arches with cladding, grey alloy wheels and side steps. At the rear, it gets a bootlid-mounted spare tyre, shark fin antenna and a solid bumper.
On the inside, the cabin is finished with premium materials. This includes soft-touch elements on the dashboard, door panels and centre control, a large 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a 15.6-inch massive infotainment display with smartphone connectivity, wireless charging, opulent AC vents, flat-bottom steering wheel with control, plenty of storage spaces and tow hooks, rotary drive selector, electronic parking brake, panoramic sunroof, Level 2 ADAS, adjustable headrests, powered front seats, drive modes, premium audio system and more.
Specs
In terms of specifications, the Jetour T2 gets a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder turbo petrol mill which generates 250 hp and 390 Nm of peak power and torque. There is an automatic transmission which sends power to all four wheels. Interestingly, there was an issue of the gearbox heating up during this test drive. Also, the vlogger mentions that the engine makes a lot of noise. All in all, he found the powertrain to be lacking which makes the entire driving experience quite disappointing. That even makes all the gadgets and styling of this SUV useless. Still, it is quite intriguing to see how people replicate premium vehicles all around the world.
