Jaipur Man Buys Ather Electric Scooter Using Rs 10 Coins

In a hilariously shocking turn of events, a man in Jaipur buys an Ather electric scooter with just Rs 10 coins! In all honesty, this is not the first time we are reporting something like this. There are many content creators who perform such acts just to garner views. Social media engagement is almost becoming addiction where people do all sorts of strange activities just for the views. At times, these are funny instances which people take as light-hearted entertainment. This is one such case. Here are the details.

Interestingly, the CEO of Ather, Tarun Mehta tweeted the picture where the man receives the customary dummy key during the time of the delivery. That is when the little sacks of Rs 10 coins become visible. They are placed on the table. It is hard to count just how many bags are there. Considering that the price of the Ather e-scooter is north of Rs 1 lakh, the number coins will atleast have to be 10,000. That is true if the man is paying for the EV in full. If he is just paying the down payment, this number would be much lesser. In any case, to pay everything in coins is just bizarre.

Tarun shared this image with the caption, “A new Ather owner just bought himself a 450 in Jaipur…. all with 10Re coins!” Needless to say, this created a frenzy among the netizens. One user commented, “Okay, great by WHY? What’s with the “chutte paise se khareeda” mindset.”. Another use wrote, “Hear they don’t accept 10rs coins in Rajasthan so shopkeepers helped him buying the bike”. A thoughtful comment by one user read, “do they count coins manually or if weight of each coin remaining same they’ll just weigh it all to arrive at the total?”. Clearly, the X users are having a blast.

Author’s Note

Now while we see a lot of YouTubers doing such activities to gain followers and views, it looks like this one is a genuine case. In fact, that is the reason why the CEO of Ather is mentioning it via his personal X handle. Therefore, we can be sure that this deal actually went through. The YouTubers in the past used to come up with the idea of purchasing cars with Re 1 coins! That is quite hard to believe. In any case, we advise our readers to take such videos and news reports just for your personal entertainment. We wouldn’t recommend you this method to purchase an automobile for the sake of your own convenience and that of the dealer.
