The new Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R is the cheapest liter-class supersport motorcycle at its price and is still up there with all the other big bikes in the country.

Kawasaki India has launched the 2019 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R at a price of Rs. 13.99 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Ninja ZX-10R is locally assembled and this time around , it is Rs. 31,000 cheaper than the outgoing model. The ZX-10R was already the cheapest liter-class supersport motorcycle in the country and now, it’s even more so.

The new price, however, is not the only news. There has been some updates under the skin as well. It now gets a wider power band, improved suspension set-up and braking performance. The motor is a 998 cc, in-line four-cylinder, liquid-cooled unit that churns out 200.2 bhp, and can be further increased to 210 bhp with RAM air intake.ย

The engine gets a new finger-follower valve actuation for a lighter and more reliable setup. There has been updates to the gearbox as well. The revised 6-speed constant mesh gearbox gets a new bi-directional quick-shifter for clutch-less shifts. It also gets self-healing paint which debuted with the Ninja H2R.

Kawasaki has managed to keep the price competitive in spite of not increasing the localization percentage. The Ninja ZX-10R comes to India via the Completely Knocked Down (CKD) route and Kawasaki say, that this ZX-10R is the closest production model that could come to the World Superbike( WSBK) Championship race machine.

The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R is right up there will all the other liter-class supersport motorcycles in the country. And it sure does look like a mean green machine with that livery and Kawasaki Racing Team stickers. It also gets new red accents on the faring this time to differentiate it from the outgoing model. The Ninja ZR-10R is loaded with electronic goodies as well, which includes Kawasaki Traction Control, cornering management system, electronic throttle valves, engine brake control and ABS along with three different riding modes.

Bookings for the new bike are now open with a token amount of Rs. 1.5 lakhs with the booking window open till 30th May for this batch of motorcycles. The Ninja ZX-10R goes against quite some sensational supersport motorcycles in the country – the Suzuki GSX-R1000, Ducati Panigale V4, Yamaha YZF-R1, Aprilia RSV4 RR as well as the upcoming new generation BMW S 1000 RR. The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R still remains a stellar liter-class supersport motorcycle which is now more affordable than ever before.
