The engine specifications – power and torque figures – of the newly unveiled Kia Seltos SUV have been leaked. It is going to be launched in August 2019.
Kia globally unveiled its all new SUV in India, the Kia Seltos. It will be first launched in India, following a global launch later this year. At the unveil event, we saw the SUV in entire flesh.
At that time, the feature list was revealed, but the dimensions and engine specifications of Kia Seltos were not revealed. Autocar has now leaked the power and torque figures along with the dimensions, ahead of the launch.
The bookings for Seltos will commence by mid-July. Kia has confirmed that it will have 265 touchpoints across 160 cities in India soon. We will share the dealerships list soon.

Kia Seltos will be available with a 1.5 Litre petrol, a 1.5 Litre CRDi diesel and a 1.4 Litre T-GDI turbo-petrol engine. All the engines will be BS-6 compliant and the car will be offered with FOUR transmission options.
The petrol engine produces 115 BHP and 144 Nm of peak torque. The diesel engine puts out 115 BHP and 250 Nm of peak torque and lastly, the turbo petrol engine produces 140 BHP and 242 Nm of peak torque. The petrol and diesel engine figures are relatively lower than Hyundai Creta.
All the engine will come with a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard. The petrol engine will get the option of CVT, diesel with the 6-speed torque converter and the 7-speed DCT with the turbo petrol engine.
Talking about the dimensions, Kia Seltos will be 4,315mm long, 1800mm wide and 1620mm tall. The ground clearance will be 190mm and the wheelbase will be 2610mm. Seltos will be longer and wider than Creta, but the latter is taller and gets a better ground clearance.

Further, the Seltos gets a boot capacity of 433 litres, again bigger than the Creta. The lower-spec variants will get 16-inch wheels whereas the top-spec variant will use 17-inch alloy wheels.
Features onboard include 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment, 360-degree camera, rain sensing wipers, auto headlamps, Heads-up display, Ventilated seats and cruise control. Safety features include six airbags, ABS, Front parking sensors, Electronic Stability Control, Vehicle Stability Management, Hill Assist and a segment first Blind Spot Monitor.
