KTM RC125 was recently spotted testing in Pune, which led us to expect its launch. Now, reports have further confirmed its launch period.
KTM Duke 125 has started strong with the highest sales in KTM’s lineup right from the month of its launch. It was manufactured in India for export purposes, but was not launched because of its steep pricing.
Seeing its success, KTM has reportedly decided to launch the RC125 in India. Zigwheels reports that the baby RC will be launched by June 2019. The official bookings will also commence soon.
Last month, the KTM RC125 was spotted near Pune without any camouflage. This would further help the monthly sales of KTM in India.
The 124.6cc liquid-cooled DOHC mill from the Duke 125 will also come on the RC125. It produces 14.5 BHP and 12 Nm of peak torque, while being mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
The styling of KTM RC125 is the same as the RC200, with the loud graphics, orange alloy wheels and split seats. The baby RC will borrow most of its equipment from the bigger model.
As seen, the spotted test mule uses an underbelly exhaust unit. The aggressive riding position and fully front fairing has been retained and so are the projector headlamps.
KTM RC125 uses 43mm WP Upside-Down forks at the front and WP monoshock absorber. Braking is handled by a 300mm disc and a 220mm disc at the ends, paired with a single-ABS unit.
Features onboard will include projector headlamps, a fully digital spedometer (from Duke 125 and 200), clip-on handlebars, split seats and a windshield.
We expect the prices to fall in the range of Rs 1.30 Lakhs to Rs 1.4 Lakhs. It will enter into stiff competition with Yamaha R15V3, which also goes for RS 1.41 Lakhs
