Mahindra XUV3XO Launches in Sri Lanka

The Indian automobile giant has been expanding its global footprint for a while now, one launch at a time

The popular Mahindra XUV3XO has now been launched in Sri Lanka. We know that it is one of the most successful compact SUVs in India. It has been around, as XUV300, since 2019. It has always been among the most feature-loaded products in its class. That caught the fancy of the potential buyers and it became an instant success. Apart from the in-cabin amenities, the safety and performance were also its strong suits. Having been updated a few months ago, the facelift model is now on sale in our neighbouring country. It is available in two variants – AX5 AT and AX7L AT.

The Mahindra Sri Lanka official Instagram handle showcased the specifics of the launch ceremony in Colombo. On the outside, there aren’t any changes to the design. That is expected since the SUV is manufactured in India and exported to Sri Lanka. The front fascia contains that sleek gloss black grille with chrome inserts along with wide LED DRLs on the extreme edges, flanking the LED headlamps, and a sporty bumper. On the sides, the elegant 17-inch diamond cut alloy wheels, roof rails and black side pillars are similar to the Indian model. Overall, the SUV carries the design philosophy from India.

Interior and Features

Just like the outside, even the interior and features are identical to the Indian model. That is particularly impressive since car buyers want the absolute latest tech and convenience functionalities in their vehicles these days. The main attractions include:

  • 10.25-inch Touchscreen Infotainment Display
  • AdrenoX Connected Car Tech with 80+ Features
  • Largest Panoramic Sunroof in the Segment (Skyroof)
  • A 10.25-inch Digital Instrument Cluster
  • 7-Speaker Harman Kardon Audio System
  • Powered Front Seats
  • Level 2 ADAS with Radar, Camera and Ultrasonic Sensors
  • 6 Standard Airbags
  • All Four Disc Brakes
  • ISOFIX Child Seat Mounts
  • 3-point Seatbelts for all Passengers
  • 360-degree Camera
  • Electronic Parking Brake

Specs and Price

For the Sri Lankan market, the Mahindra XUV3XO boasts a 1.2-litre 3-cylinder turbo petrol mill, which generates a healthy 110 hp (82 kW) and 200 Nm of maximum power and torque, respectively. It is solely available with a 6-speed AISIN automatic transmission. This peppy engine will ensure that the driving experience is engaging. In terms of pricing, the compact SUV starts at Rs 10.495 Million, which roughly converts to Rs 30.60 lakh INR. The high import duties in Sri Lanka is the reason for this price. In any case, it will be interesting to see how well the customers embrace the Mahindra SUV.
