Mahindra Bolero to get dual-airbags along with ABS as standard across the range. These additions are going to be carried out as a result of the Bharat New Vehicle Safety Assessment Program (BNVSAP).
The Mahindra Bolero is soon going to become a lot safer. Starting July 2019, the Bharat New Vehicle Safety Assessment Program (BNVSAP) will come into effect. Under this, from then onwards, all the cars sold in India will have to have certain safety features as standard. These include airbags, Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS), seat belt warning and reverse parking sensors. In order to meet this, Mahindra and Mahindra is going to introduce these safety features in the Bolero. Currently, this UV is the only product in the Mahindra’s portfolio which does not come with this safety features
The major market for the Mahindra Bolero is primarily rural areas. Hence, we often see them carry a large number of passengers. Introduction of these safety features will make the vehicle a better proposition for the semi-urban population.
That said, the Mahindra Bolero is no bare-bones vehicle. Currently, it comes with features like central locking, power windows and keyless entry. Also included on the feature list is a basic audio system that offers Bluetooth connectivity and a centre armrest on the 2nd row of seats. Other important features include a driver information display, wood trim finish on the dashboard and rear wiper with washer.
