We have just got to know that the already premium Mahindra XUV700 is bound to receive more luxurious AX9 and AX9L variants. You would know that the XUV700 is already among the most feature-packed SUVs in the country. In fact, it even boasts some features which can only be found in the vehicles a segment above. Still, the Indian auto giant has managed to squeeze in a few more handy features to make the overall package more attractive. Let us take a look at the details of what these features are.

With the launch of the new trims, the flagship SUV from Mahindra will offer some new features in these new trims. These include:

  • Powered Tailgate
  • Connected Tail Lamps
  • Ventilated Front & Rear Seats
  • Auto-Dimming IRVM
  • More Apps and Better Updated Maps

Specs

The Mahindra XUV700 offers two engine options: a 2.0-litre turbo petrol direct injection mStallion engine, delivering an impressive 200 PS and 380 Nm and a 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine, available in two states of tune – 155 PS / 360 Nm and 185 PS / 420 Nm (450 Nm in automatic trim) of peak power and torque respectively. Both of these powertrains can be paired with either a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission. Additionally, the top-tier trims come with the option of an AWD version and equipped with ADAS features. The prices for the XUV700 range from Rs 14.01 lakh to Rs 26.18 lakh, ex-showroom. We expect the AX9L trim to cost at least a lakh more. This would translate to an on-road price of almost Rs 30 lakh.

What We Think

Mahindra XUV700 is already among the most loaded vehicles in its segment. However, there might be some potential buyers who are missing out on the above-mentioned features. Therefore, the AX9 and the AX9L variants might make a lot of sense for those who look for the latest connectivity and tech features in their vehicles and are not on a strict budget. Talking about the budget, it would also be interesting to see how much of a premium would Mahindra command over the already expensive AX7 and AX7L trims.
