Maruti Suzuki is all set to conquer South East Asia with Ritz. Evidently, Maruti Suzukiโs hatchback Maruti A-Star has been very successful predominantly in Europe and other parts like Philippines, Taiwan and Hong Kong selling nearly one lakh units, which raises the chances of Ritz being successful inย South East Asia. On 28th January Maruti Suzuki India made its first export of 500 units to Indonesia.
The model exported to Indonesia is sported with a 1.2 liter petrol engine, but an official assured that it will available in a 1.2 liter K-series petrol and 1.3 liter Multijet diesel variant. The idea to target South East Asian markets with Maruti Ritz came after the success that Maruti A-star brought to Maruti Suzuki India within 11 months of overseas shipments in 44 countries.
Another reason for such exports is the vision of parent Suzuki Motor Corporationโs, running parallel to Maruti Suzuki emerging as a manufacturer with global appeal. Suzuki hopes to see India as a global hub for compact cars.
So far Indonesia has been exported with a total of 11,145 units of different cars.
