The Mundra port is Maruti’s second car terminal port and commenced exports in 2009. Maruti has a Pre Delivery Inspection (PDI) facility along with stockyard at Mundra port. Currently, the company exports 14 vehicles from Mundra which includes the likes of the Alto K10, Celerio, Baleno, Ignis and Dzire taking a prominent share. As for the domestic market however, Maruti recently lost 2% of its market share to its rival brands because of the automobile industry slowdown in our country. In fact, Maruti Suzuki is one of the worst affected brands by this slowdown. That said, Maruti recently launched the XL6 in India and that has helped with the sales to a considerable amount. Also lined up is the Maruti Suzuki S-Presso that’s set to launch at the end of this month and that too could go a long way in providing some relief to Maruti Suzuki.
