Maruti Vitara Brezza is the safest Maruti car in India with 4-star safety rating. It is also the third safest compact SUV in India.
We all know Maruti Suzuki has very few cars that have gone through safety crash tests. Globally, most of their cars have gone to the test but have returned with 2 or 3 stars. In India, the best ranking is taken by Vitara Brezza which has scored 4-star safety rating.
You can see the proof in this accident as well. This is the first version of Maruti Vitara Brezza and has been in a major accident. The car crashed at a speed of 80 km/hr and that’s why such a big impact. The airbags have also been deployed as seen.
Despite such a major accident, all the four occupants are safe with minor injuries. The bonnet, front bumper and the engine has been completely damaged. The impact has also come on the doors and you can see a crack on the front windshield.

Most of the users have appreciated Brezza’s strong A Pillar and stable platform. The global NCAP crash tests indicate an overall 4-star safety rating but with a poor 2-star rating for the rear seat child occupants. The side impact is also considerably and tests have voted the structure of Brezza to be stable.
Among other compact SUVs, XUV500 is the leader with 5-star rating followed by Nexon with the same rating. Then comes Vitara Brezza tying with Ford EcoSport, both with the same rating. However, latter loses its points when it comes to rollover control.
Vitara Brezza now comes with dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, front disc brakes, rear parking sensors, speed alert system, front passengers seat belt reminder and three-point seat belt pretensioners as standard fitment. The top-end trims get rear parking camera additionally.
Just two months back, Maruti launched the Vitara Brezza Petrol in India. Ditching the ageing 1.3 Litre Multijet diesel engine, it now comes with a 1.5 Litre four-cylinder petrol unit. The engine is capable of producing 104 BHP and 138 Nm of peak torque. Transmission options include a 5-speed MT and a 4-speed AT.

Followed by Vitara Brezza, we have the Maruti Ertiga securing an average 3-star safety rating. Swift has reported an unsatisfactory 2-star rating with an unstable structure. Also, to note, the outgoing Swift has recieved 2 stars while the earlier generation model with any airbags has received 0 star.
