We live in an era where EVs are challenging the performance of some of the most expensive and advanced supercars on the planet at a fraction of their price
This drag race between the MG Cyberster and Lamborghini Aventador Ultimae has to be among the most exciting competitions between EV and ICE powertrains. As we progress into the age of electric mobility, we see EVs do things which seemed barely possible up until a few years ago. I mean that they are able to exhibit extreme performance at a price point which is drastically lower than the ICE supercars. In essence, the advancements in technology have levelled the playing field. Let us experience this drag race here.
MG Cyberster vs Lamborghini Aventador Drag Race
This video stems from YouTube courtesy of CarExpert. The host has the two supercars with him on a rainy day. Interestingly, the surface is completely wet, which will test the traction of the two supercars. On the count of three, the two drivers accelerate hard. The Lambo struggled a bit to put the power down, which meant that the MG Cyberster took an unassailable lead. It ended up winning the first round convincingly. For the second round, the launches were perfect from both drivers.
However, this time around, the Cyberster took the lead, but the Aventador was very close. As the speeds increased, the Lambo overtook the Cyberster and remained ahead for the entire race. Hence, it took the second round. Thereafter, they decided to perform a rolling race from 50 km/h. This time, again, the Lamborghini showcased its true potential and smoked the Cyberster. Finally, the 0-100 km/h sprint in the Aventador took 3.28 seconds, while in the Cyberster, this number was an impressive 3.4 seconds.
