MG Hector is all set to launch later this June and the car packs loads of features which makes it step up its game.
MG Hector was unveiled on 15th May and the SUV does look imposing. The stance of the premium SUV which gets split headlight design with LED DRL’s on the top and projector headlamps below, black mesh grille highlighted with silver inserts does make the SUV stand out from the crowd.
Apart from getting all LED Lighting, here are some more segment -first features which the car boasts and is a tough competition among its rivals!
MG Hector Infotainment System
The SUV gets a 10.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system which supports Android Auto and Apply Car Play. MG Hector is also the first connected cars to be launched in India with the i-Smart system. It is an in-car based Android tablet which offers 4G connectivity.
The system helps you make emergency calls, real-time navigation, vehicle status, in-built apps and also comes with preloaded apps like Gaana, Accu Weather apps etc. Furthermore, the system is just like your smartphone which will receive over the air updates for new themes, application and fixing software bugs.

Safety Features
MG Motors has clearly not compromised on the safety features and is equipped with ABS with EBD, front dual airbags and rear parking sensors. Since we are talking about the segment first features then the SUV packs ESP with traction control, Hill Hold Control, ISOFIX Child seat anchors, 3-point seatbelt and all four wheels gets equipped with disc brakes.
Convenience Features
The car just does not let you feel if you are the odd one out in the group but gives you superiority among others because of segment first features. For your better parking experience, the car gets a 360-degree camera. Seating comfort is resolved by giving driver and co-driver power adjustable front seats and comes with rear seat recliner.
Floating turn LED indicators, front parking sensors, heated ORVM’s, tyre-pressure monitoring system, 8-colour ambient lighting and a powered tailgate with height adjustable are also some of the first-in-class segment features.

Engine
It is India’s first 48V Hybrid SUV. Basically, MG Hector comes in two petrol and one diesel engine options. The 1.5-litre motor sources its power from a turbocharged petrol engine generating 142bhp with 250Nm of peak torque. The 48V mild hybrid engine is more fuel efficient than the petrol engine.
The FCA source 2.0-litre diesel engine produces 175bhp of power with 350Nm of peak torque. It is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission for diesel and 7-speed DCT transmission for the petrol engine.
Biggest in-class features
The dual pane panoramic sunroof is the biggest in its class along with 10.4-inch vertical infotainment system. It gets the biggest boot in its segment which counts up to 587 litres. MG Hector stands at 4655mm long and its wheelbase is 2750mm which makes it larger than its competition.
MG Hector is the feature rich in its segment and packs majestic looks on the outside with plush and comfortable luxury on the inside. It will launch later in June, the premium SUV will compete with Tata Harrier, Jeep Compass and Mahindra XUV500.
