MV Agusta Tourismo Veloce 800 gets the same engine from the Brutale 800 and this is brand’s first ever motorcycle in the adventure tourer segment.
Kinetic-owned Motoroyale in bringing the MV Agusta Tourismo Veloce 800 in India. The motorcycle is all set to launch in India on August 29 and once launched, it will go against the likes of the Ducati Multistrada 950 and the Triumph Tiger 800 XRx. Alongside this launch, MV Agusta will also be inaugurating their dealership in Navi Mumbai. Also, this is MV Agusta’s first product in the Adventure Tourer segment.
The MV Agusta Tourismo Veloce 800 is powered by a 798cc in-line 3-cylinder engine that churns out 111PS of power at 10,150rpm and 80Nm of peak torque at 7100rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox that also comes with a bi-directional quick-shifter. The Turismo Veloce also features a counter-rotating crankshaft which negates the gyroscopic effect on the wheels, making the bike more agile and nimble. As for the electronic aids, the motorcycle gets four riding modes – Sport, Rain, Touring, Custom – and an 8-level traction control system.
As for other mechanical hardwares on the motorcycle, it gets a steel trellis frame. Suspension duties are taken care by Marzocchi USD forks at the front and a Sachs monoshock at the rear. Both the front and rear suspension offer preload, rebound and compression damping adjustments. It gets twin 320mm discs at the front with four-pot calipers and a single 220mm disc brake at the rear. The motorcycle gets 17-inch alloy wheels which come wrapped in 120/70-section front and 190/55-section rear tyres.
Other technical highlight include a Bosch ABS system which allows for 9 different settings and has been paired with a rear-wheel lift-mitigation system. The bike weighs 191 kg (dry) and has a top-speed of 230 kph. In case you did not know, this engine is the same engine that’s found in the F3 or the Brutale 800 and it has been tuned so that 90% of the torque is available from as low as 3,800 rpm.
MV Agusta makes one of the best looking motorcycles in the world. And this is no different. It’s immediately identifiable as a MV Agusta and the face seems to be lot inspired from the F3 and F4 fully-faired motorcycles. The motorcycle gets diamond shaped LED headlight, a tall windscreen, knuckle guards with turn indicators, a muscular fuel tank and an exhaust that looks identical to the Brutale 800’s unit. The completely exposed engine and parts of the trellis frame look amazing too. The MV Agusta Tourismo Veloce 800 is expected to bear quite a premium price tag of around Rs. 17-19 lakhs, ex-showroom.
