Regulars here would know we’ve already reported in significant detail about the new 2018 Renault Duster. Well, the new-generation of Renault’s popular SUV is an important product, especially from the Indian market’s perspective. The official images of the new Duster 2018 showed the evolutionary styling of the exterior. Now, images of the interior have leaked online ahead of the SUV’s official debut at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show. It’s also likely to debut in India at the Auto Expo 2018. From the looks of it, it’s actually the interior of this model that has a far more revolutionary design than the exterior. Let’s discuss the new SUV’s interior details in this post here. A look at these images reveal the minimalist approach the designers have taken for the 2018 Duster’s interior. The steering wheel has a four-spoke design and looks fairly sporty. The dashboard has three circular aircon vents and a large touchscreen infotainment system. The dashboard and most other panels come finished in black and have an aluminium-finish trim to jazz up the things a fair bit. The buttons are back-lit in orange. We expect even the instrument console to have orange back-light. Furthermore, the seat upholstery has orange stitching. Overall, the black-dark grey panels along with aluminium-finish trim and orange back-lighting and stitching gives the cabin a premium and a slightly sporty feel.

We are not sure if this colour theme would make it to India. We are most likely to get a lighter shade, probably the ones seen on the existing Duster. The images here also reveal some finer details. For instance, there seem to be rotary controls near the gear level. These can be probably used to control the all-wheel drive system. Of course, these images are of the Left Hand Drive (LHD) model and India will get the Right Hand Drive (RHD) version. Even the India-spec model will get most of the features the new Duster comes with. These include a modern infotainment unit with a touchscreen interface, flexible seating arrangements, rear AC vents, and definitely a lot more.

New 2018 Renault Duster India Launch Date

The new Duster is still almost a couple of years away from its India launch. That said, we do expect it to debut at the Auto Expo 2018. In India, the 2018 model of the popular small SUV will sit below the upcoming Captur in the manufacturer’s product portfolio. It will completely replace the current model and rival the likes of Mahindra Scorpio and Hyundai Creta.

In most global markets, the new 2018 Duster will go on sale with two engine options- 1.2-litre Petrol and 1.6-litre Diesel. Both the motors on offer will offer a good mix of performance and fuel mileage. Transmission options for both these engines will include a 6-speed Manual and a 6-speed Automatic. All Wheel Drive will be available as an option on the top-end models.
