The upcoming mid-size SUV is likely to get the new global Kia design language along with a hybrid mill
The new generation Kia Seltos has been spied testing on the Indian roads under a full disguise. Seltos is among the most popular mid-size SUVs in India. It has been around since 2019 in our market, marking Kia’s entry into India. In fact, it has been a major contributor to Kia becoming the fastest carmaker to reach 1 million (10 lakh) sales in India. It achieved this mighty feat in a matter of 59 months of operation. After receiving a facelift a while ago, the second-generation iteration of the Seltos is about to arrive in India.
New Generation Kia Seltos Spotted
This post surfaced on Instagram courtesy of nitrorush_01. It captures the visuals of the heavily camouflaged mid-size SUV plying on the busy roads of Noida. One can make out the Star Map light at the front along with striking LED DRLs. This is clearly reminiscent of the latest ‘Opposites United’ global design philosophy of Kia. While other elements are neatly concealed, we can get a glimpse of the new front grille and bumper, along with the new elegant alloy wheels. More details will emerge later.
In terms of tech and convenience, Kia is known for equipping all its cars with all the bells and whistles. I have no reason to believe that it will be any different this time around. In fact, even the existing Seltos is among the most feature-packed products in its segment. Some of the top highlights include two 10.25-inch Panoramic Dual Displays for Infotainment and Driver’s Instrument Cluster, 19 autonomous ADAS Level 2 Features, Voice-controlled Dual-Pane Panoramic Sunroof, Ventilated Front Seats with 8-way Powered Adjustment, 8-Speaker Premium Bose Sound System, AI Voice Recognition System, 8-inch Head-Up Display and more. The new-gen model will even try to better it.
Specs
Interestingly, the new generation Kia Seltos will most likely have a little bit of a shuffle in terms of powertrain options as well. We will continue to get the familiar mills – 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol, 1.5-litre turbo petrol and a 1.5-litre turbo diesel. However, there could even be a hybrid configuration with the 1.5-litre NA petrol engine. It will be designed for those who want high fuel efficiency. Apart from that, the buyers will continue to benefit from manual and automatic transmissions. Let us keep an eye out for more details as they emerge.
