The Hero-Harley partnership in India has sprouted a few products with many similarities and some differences
In this post, we are comparing the new Harley Davidson X440 T and Hero Maverick 440 on the basis of design, specs, features, etc. We know that these two motorcycles are mechanically identical. However, there are some distinctions in terms of design and features. Also, due to poor sales, Hero MotoCorp decided to discontinue the production of the Maverick 440. Let us first begin with the commonalities. The two bikes share the engine options. This means a 440-cc 2V SOHC single-cylinder engine that churns out 27 hp and 36 Nm of peak power and torque, respectively. This mill pairs with a 6-speed transmission. In the case of the new X440 T, the power remains the same, but the torque increases to 38 Nm. Still, the performance will be almost similar since Hero makes the engine for both motorcycles.

Harley Davidson X440 T vs Hero Maverick 440 – Design Comparison
The new Harley Davidson X440 T bears a similar exterior styling to the regular X440 for the most part. Still, the tail section is now more angular with a streamlined cowl. This ensures that the strange gap between the wheel and fender of the X440 is now reduced. Other critical bits include a redesigned seat for better comfort, chunkier grab handles, bar-end mirrors, a black front fender and redesigned exhaust. On the fuel tank, you will see Harley-Davidson X440 T livery and chequered flag-style graphics.
On the other hand, the Hero Maverick 440 used to embody an impressive stance as well. It has a clean, muscular design that gives it a strong road presence without trying too hard. Its upright stance, wide tank, and simple body panels create a classic roadster look that appeals to everyday riders. The round LED headlamp and minimalistic tail section keep the styling modern yet uncluttered. Chunky tyres and a sturdy frame add to its tough appearance, making the bike look ready for both city use and weekend rides. Both of these have their individualities despite sharing the powertrain.

Harley Davidson X440 T vs Hero Maverick 440 – Features and Price
The new Harley Davidson X440 T bears the latest tech and convenience amenities. The main attractions incorporate a 3.5-inch TFT circular display with smartphone connectivity and navigation, ride modes, shift-by-wire and much more. Also, the prices are yet to be announced. On the other hand, the Hero Maverick 440 also had a fully digital instrument display with Bluetooth Connectivity, call/SMS alert, turn-by-turn navigation, etc. The Maverick had a price range between Rs 2.13 lakh and Rs 2.40 lakh, ex-showroom. Clearly, both these bikes are similar but a bit different.
