This video will answer the big question of whether the back seat of the new Maruti Celerio is good for 3 persons or not. Maruti has recently launched the new-gen Celerio in our market. It was undergoing testing for a long time. Celerio was not as popular as some of the other hatchbacks by Maruti in a segment below or a segment above. However, it still managed to sell in quite healthy numbers. With this upgrade, it might fetch some more customers from the adjacent segments. This video features the top ZXi+ variant and the YouTuber patiently walks us through all the features of the vehicle. Let us check out these features in detail.

New Maruti Celerio – Back Seat For 3?

When one enters the new Celerio, he/she could sense a complete change in design from the outgoing model. The entire layout of the dashboard has seen a transformation. The steering is also brand new with audio and media controls. There is the inclusion of the push start/stop button. The part-digital instrument cluster is borrowed from WagonR. The air-con vents are stylish and modern and the AC is quite effective too. The power window switches are mounted on the centre console. There is a decent-sized touchscreen there with connectivity features as well. When it comes to the rear seating, the YouTuber shows three persons seating. However, it looks like there is not enough shoulder room for all three occupants. To answer it shortly, the back seat of the new Celerio might be best suited for two because of the width on offer.

Specs

Under the hood, there is a new 1.0-litre petrol engine that makes 67 hp and 90 Nm. This is a K10C unit that replaces the earlier unit but like the engine powering the older model, this one’s too available with 5-speed MT and AMT. Also, the new-gen Celerio is the best mileage petrol car in India with the VXI AGS version offering a stellar 26.68 kmpl. The prices of the hatchback start at Rs 4.99 lakh and go all the way up to Rs 6.94 lakh, ex-showroom. The traditional rival includes the Hyundai Santro but many people looking for a small car might be interested in the Celerio.
