Maruti Swift Vxi vs Vxi (O) Comparison

In this post, I shall compare the new Maruti Swift Vxi and Vxi (O) variants. Both these are mid-level trims which are generally the highest-selling versions of any car. The fourth generation Swift has finally been launched in India after being anticipated for a long time. In the last few months, I was consistently reporting about the launch of the new Swift in many international markets. Remember, Swift is one of the most most successful vehicles in the Indian automobile industry ever. With the new-gen model, the largest carmaker in India aims to continue the legacy of the Swift.

New Maruti Swift Vxi vs Vxi (O) – Specs, Mileage and Price

The new Maruti Swift just comes with a sole 1.2-litre 3-cylinder Z12E mill with a 12V mild hybrid engine which generates a decent 82 PS and 112 Nm of peak power and torque. There are options of choosing between either a 5-speed manual or an AMT automatic gearbox. The buyers get to experience the enticing mileage figures of this new efficient engine – 25.75 kmpl with the AMT and 24.8 kmpl with the manual. The prices of the Vxi and Vxi (O) are Rs 7.29 lakh and Rs 7.57 lakh, ex-showroom. Hence, there is a difference of Rs 28,000 between the two.

New Maruti Swift Vxi vs Vxi (O) – Features

Being the mid-level trims, both these variants come equipped with tons of modern connectivity, convenience, safety and tech features. Note that the main difference between the two is the availability of the Suzuki Connect connected car tech features on the Vxi (O) variant. Apart from that, this model also gets the Engine Push Start/Stop Button with Smart Key and Electrically Foldable ORVMs over the Vxi.

Our View

Both these are compelling variants of the new Maruti Swift. The list of amenities is almost similar. The Vxi (O) just gets some additional features related to the Suzuki Connect technology. I am of the opinion that you could save Rs 28,000 as you get all the necessary functionalities in the Vxi trim. Still, if you are not fixated on your budget, having additional features is never a bad idea.
