New Skoda Kushaq Facelift vs Hyundai Creta - Specs, Features, Design Comparison

The mid-size SUV segment is extremely popular and growing at a rapid pace in our market

In this post, we take a look at the comparison between the new Skoda Kushaq facelift and Hyundai Creta on the basis of specs, features, design and more. The mid-size SUV segment has gained immense prominence in our market in recent years. We have vehicles from just about every major auto giant in this category. The new Kushaq facelift comes with tons of design upgrades, along with some new features and a transmission update. On the other hand, the Creta is the most successful mid-size SUV in the country. For now, let us compare the two thoroughly.

New Skoda Kushaq Facelift vs Hyundai Creta – Specs

The new Skoda Kushaq facelift continues to carry a 1.0-litre TSI turbo petrol and a 1.5-litre TSI turbo petrol mill. These generate a familiar 115 PS / 178 Nm and 150 PS / 250 Nm of peak power and torque, respectively. However, this time around, the transmission duties are carried out by an 8-speed torque converter with the smaller engine and 8-speed torque converter or a 7-speed DSG automatic transmission with the larger engine. Hence, buyers get a fairly wide choice of engine-gearbox combinations.

On the other hand, the Hyundai Creta is powered by the proven set of 1.5-litre engines, starting with a naturally aspirated petrol that generates 115 PS and 144 Nm, a diesel variant delivering 116 PS and a strong 250 Nm of torque and a punchy turbo-petrol option producing 160 PS and 253 Nm of peak power and torque, respectively. The buyers get a wide choice on the transmission front, with options ranging from a 6-speed manual and 6-speed iMT to a 6-speed automatic, CVT, and a 7-speed DCT. This extensive powertrain and gearbox lineup ensures the Creta caters to a wide spectrum of driving preferences and usage patterns.

Design Comparison

We know that styling is a subjective matter. Still, these two SUVs bear a distinct character, courtesy of their unique exterior appearance. The updated Skoda Kushaq facelift brings noticeable changes to its exterior design, giving it a fresher and more contemporary appeal. The front end now features a wider illuminated grille, complemented by sleek LED headlamps and LED DRLs positioned at the extremities. A sportier, more sculpted bumper with an integrated skid plate enhances its road presence, while the bonnet retains its familiar creases. Along the sides, the SUV gets sturdy roof rails, newly designed 17-inch alloy wheels, protective body cladding, chrome window surrounds and well-defined wheel arches. At the rear, the look is rounded off by LED tail-lamps linked by a light bar with illuminated Skoda branding, a chrome strip across the tailgate, sequential indicators, and a robust bumper finished with silver cladding at the bottom. Collectively, these updates clearly set the facelifted model apart from its earlier version.

In contrast, the Hyundai Creta leans towards a more contemporary and city-focused design approach. The front end is dominated by a wide LED light bar seamlessly integrated with the DRLs, complemented by a bold grille, edge-mounted headlamps, a sporty bumper design, and a robust skid plate. From the side, it showcases stylish alloy wheels set within pronounced wheel arches, a signature C-pillar treatment, chrome door handles, and blacked-out ORVMs for added contrast. The rear section features a shark-fin antenna, LED tail-lamps connected by a light strip, a roof-mounted spoiler, a chunky skid plate, and a strong bumper design. Altogether, the Creta presents a polished, modern appearance with a clear SUV identity.
