Official Cars of Nitin Gadkari

Nitin Gadkari has some hardcore eco-friendly official cars in his garage. He is an Indian politician and a prominent member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Gadkari has held several important ministerial positions in the government, including the Minister of Road Transport and Highways (current position) and the Minister of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises. Known for his innovative policies, he has been instrumental in infrastructure development and the promotion of sustainable transportation in India. Gadkari has immense dedication to enhancing the country’s road network and green energy management.

Toyota Mirai Hydrogen Car

Toyota Mirai is a hydrogen car and the only one in India. It takes hydrogen as fuel and emits water vapour as exhaust. Mirai has a hydrogen tank capacity of 5.6 kg. Hydrogen powers the Lithium-ion battery. This setup has decent power and torque outputs of 182 hp and 406 Nm. The acceleration from 0 to 96 km/h takes 9.2 secs. The top model costs around $67,100 in the USA (approx. Rs 56 lakh). Importing it to India would attract tariffs which would more than double this price.

Toyota Innova Hycross Flex Fuel

The Toyota Innova Hycross Flex Fuel was unveiled a couple of months ago by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari himself. It is the world’s first BS6 ll-compliant flex fuel vehicle. It has a 2.0-litre Atkinson Cycle petrol engine with an electric motor making it a strong hybrid. It could run on ethanol-blended petrol (higher than 20% ethanol). As a matter of fact, this version of the Hycross would make its entry into the mass market pretty soon. The launch is just around the corner.

Hyundai IONIQ 5

Finally, the Hyundai IONIQ 5 also belongs to the list of the official cars of Nitin Gadkari. It 5 redefines green mobility with its impressive performance. Equipped with a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM) electric motor and a 72.6 kWh liquid-cooled Lithium-ion battery pack, it delivers 217 PS and 350 Nm of power and torque. In its rear-wheel-drive (RWD) configuration, it achieves a rapid 0-100 km/h acceleration in just 7.6 seconds. Various driving modes enhance the overall experience, while its exceptional 631 km range (according to ARAI) eliminates range concerns. Moreover, it can charge from 10% to 80% in a mere 18 minutes using a high-speed 350 kW DC charger, making the Hyundai IONIQ 5 an enticing choice for Indian consumers venturing into the world of electric vehicles. It retails for Rs 45.95 lakh, ex-showroom.
