Parmish Verma Takes a Dig at Typical North Indian Used Car Dealers

The used car market has been growing exponentially in India in the last few years

In this post, we take a look at a rather hilarious instance of prominent Punjabi singer Parmish Verma making fun of the typical North Indian used car dealers. Parmish is one of the most famous names in the Punjabi music industry at the moment. He has given us tons of blockbuster hits. In fact, he is not just a singer but a talented music video director, rapper, videographer and actor. He made his acting debut with Rocky Mental and continues to work extensively. For now, let us glance at the specifics of this latest case.

Parmish Verma Takes a Dig at Typical North Indian Used Car Dealers

This video stems from parmisharchive on Instagram. The visuals capture Parmish and his brother Sukhan Verma at an isolated location with luxury cars. They commence the video in a similar fashion to many luxury used car dealers. The first car they jokingly aim to sell is the Mercedes-Benz E-Class, which bears a price tag of over Rs 70 lakh under normal circumstances. However, the brothers put it up for sale for Rs 2.3 lakh. Then they move on to a modified Toyota Hilux, which Parmish says is available for just Rs 12.50 lakh even though the actual price is well over Rs 30 lakh.

For me, the funniest bit arrived when they talked about their Audi Q3. When Sukhan asked Parmish about the price of the Q3, the latter replied, “What can I even say about the Audi…just take the Audi, brother” (Audi ka kya bataye, Audi to le jao bhai). In fact, he just mentioned that the Audi Q3 can be had for just Rs 25,000. To end the video on a high note, the two brothers pointed to an old Tata Safari and said that it would be sold for Rs 28.40 lakh. Clearly, all this is meant to mimic some luxury used car dealers who come up with creative and exciting ways to gain the attention of the viewers.

My View

I believe such fun banters are a great source of entertainment for a whole bunch of netizens. In a sense, they also reveal the true nature of salesmanship that some business owners deploy to generate traction for their products. In today’s day and age, it is a challenge to stay away from the crowd and establish a distinct identity. It feels nice to see this side of our beloved stars. I shall keep an eye out for more such stories in times to come.
